I have been lurking around for a while and I was hoping to make my first post soon with pictures of my new H3. But it hasn't worked out that way.
I ordered an H3 on the 3rd of January:
Shadow Green Metallic
Ebony/Light Cashmere
Adventure
5 speed
Sunroof
MP3 Radio w/Monsoon
Black Tube Steps
Brush Guard
Trailer Equip
The Dealer said 6 weeks, so I gave the dealer a $500 deposit to place the order. During the conversation the dealer said that they should know in about 3 weeks when it would ship.
So at the end of the 3rd week I call the dealer. Dealer said they haven't heard anything.
At the end of the 4th week I call the dealer. Dealer said they haven't heard anything.
At the end of the 5th week I call the dealer. Dealer said they haven't heard anything.
At the end of the 6th week I pay the dealer a visit. Dealer said they haven't heard anything.
I call the dealer at the beginning of the 7th week and ask for the order number so I can attempt to find out it's status. Dealer says ho does not have it right in front of him, he said he will call me back. He doesn't. I start to get that awful feeling that something is not right.
I call and leave 2 more messages during the week. Dealer does not return calls.
I call dealer today and leave message. Dealer returns my call to my surprise.
Dealer says, “well we looked into the order and it is not in the system anywhere. We don't know what happened to it. (and if that was not enough) And by the way we cannot order the 5 Speed with the Adventure package anymore......” WHAT!!
Needless to say I was upset......
I ask for my deposit back. Dealer said sure.
I picked up the deposit today at lunch. Dealer says sorry.
Whatever...... I am so ticked at this point I'm not sure what to do.
Sorry to vent on my first post.

Guys I jioned this forum for information, and I must say that it is great place for that and a lot of fun/. I ordered my H3 in April before they were onsale and before the H3 site was actually up to full info and speed, the members of this forum engaged my questions, and I was impressed at how much more information I had then my dealer. IN CLOSSING MY DEALER SUCKED AND WAS NOT HUMMER MATERIAL > unlike all the other stories that I have heard here in the forum about these great dealers. I am sure that they are out thier becuase the hummer is a strong brand name with a different kind of buyer. BUT IT WAS THE WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. But I love my truck.
OH BUY THE way check out the H3X on the Hummer site.

You can't even order 2007 H3s until late April.
When the H3 first came out, there were lots of constraints. Now there are none. PM me with your ZIP code and what you're looking for and I can help you out about finding a vehicle.

I think the dealers have their own idea of what to stock, many of them being perhaps Cadillac or some other dealer. So they keep pushing automatics. I myself am guilty of settling for an automatic though I initially wanted a stick. As long as there are people like me settling for already stocked auto H3's there is no need for the dealer to change his strategy. I think generally we will always have to wait for a stick shift but of course there are some exceptions. Don't get me wrong; I still like the automatic, although my right hand keeps finding a place on the auto shifter. A stick would have been nice though.

The dealer is useless. Hope you find a better dealer.

The two whiners have only three posts total and haven't been back since. They joined ONLY after not getting what they wanted in what they believed was a timely fashion.
I smell some stinky ass BS on this thread.
I don't believe them. They're full of crap.

Go to another dealer.
FWIW, most of us who didn't buy one right off the lot had to wait probably 6-8 wks. or more for the truck to come in.

Jerry-not sure where in MI you are, but I picked my rig up from Suburban in Troy and had zero problems. Let me know if that wasn't the place and I can set you up with my guy over there (who is now the head of Lamborghini). He'll hook it up for you.

Thanks for letting me vent everyone :-)
I am planning to look at another dealer in a nearby town, this weekend. I figured I would have to wait a while for the truck, I'm just upset at how I was jerked around by the dealer.
I'm in Fort Worth Texas on business, and will be for a few months longer, the dealer is the only Hummer dealer in Fort Worth, I will be letting the owner know what happened, but I doubt he will care. As he has more dealerships than most people have shirts.
I had payed a visit to Suburban Hummer in Troy when I was back home in Michigan over the Christmas holidays. They seemed on top of things, but I figured since I was going to be in Texas for a such a long time, I would wait and order it back in Texas, Big mistake!
This would have been a GMS order (dad works for GM), so it would be hard to beat the price using a broker.
I plan on calling Hummer tomorrow. Does anyone know a contact number where someone who actually cares at Hummer would answer?
Thanks again for the input.
Jerry

if you have to wait a couple of months, you might as well wait for the 2007 model they will be coming out late Spring. But no Shadow Green color.

x3 - Post dealer name and location.
I also agree with Ken. Contact Hummer and find another dealer. This will work out for you in the end. Good Luck!

Jerry:
I had very similar problems with order status inconsistency
with one salesman at Jerry Seiner in South Jordan Utah
right when the H3 first came out. I canceled the order
and got a refund. Later, I found much better/thorough salesmen
(Matt and Lance) at the other Jerry Seiner dealer in Salt Lake.
So far so good (great). Maybe the first salesman was getting
bad info from his department, but that didn't excuse the
lack of callbacks and frustrating communication problems.
Getting the 6-digit order number and checking status with
Hummer directly is definitely the way to go;
It can expose lies. I was even given an incorrect shipment date
and details by the dealer, which conflicted with information
directly from the Hummer (800)732-5493 number.

After I visited the dealer the first time, I was really just looking. But after the test track and some time with a top-notch salesperson who did a fantastic job of helping me determine my needs, I was sold. Then I got on the Hummer site and built exactly what I wanted. Faxed it to the saleslady, who in turn searched lots within about 300 miles and gave me some options. Still not the exact H3, but pretty darn close.
Low and behold, about 3 weeks later on a Sunday morning, I noticed that they had the one that I wanted hidden on the back lot (had just been unloaded). Wouldn't you know that I got a call that week (they kept it on the back lot for 3 days until I could get there) letting me know that they had one that I might be interested in. They were right. I bought it. And I love it.
In my area, the local paper usually does a story a couple of times a year that has the total vehicles sold in our area by month. Historically, February is a slow month (after Christmas and right before taxes, with Valentine's Day in between!), so they should really bend over backwards to either find or deal with you on whatever they have on their lot.
Good Luck. You won't regret your decision.

No option is currently on restraint, for the record. You can order everything with everything.

Just be careful with the dealers, in NJ they are all full of Sh-t. When the H3 first came out the dealers in NJ were telling me they couldnt order certain options together, but they just want to sell what they order for inventory rather then put in a new order. This is true with many new models, but the H3 is past the new model mark. So just tell them what you want.
