Anyone have one on their SUT? I have a hard time thinking that it is worthy of 1K of my cash. I hope an aftermarket solution will come out soon!

I just bought my wife a Victory Red SUT, it stickered for $62K and after rebates and GM Supplier discount I bought it for $52K. For that money I thought it was worth it just to have 1 of 500 made.

Damn, I was misled by the salesmen. I would've gotten victory red instead of black had I known that.

Can-Back was supposed to be making a soft top like on the Dirt Sports Edition, but I haven't heard anything further....

HAHAHAHAHAHA!
5'7" 168lbs and I always stand on this with the tailgate closed and stand on the sides (not in the middle). somehwere they list a max weight for the thing... at least I thought I read this somewhere in the info when i bought the truck.
DAN, I do like th elooks of that too. the slant back would be nice, but that looks sweet too. Since I'm working on the Slant Back with TecStar (or least trying) how about you give Can Back a call too see what the deal is. or someone get me their info and I'll give em a call.

Yep. I bought one with my SUT, and I love it. It keeps out the rain very well and locks the tailgate. I also bought the bed mat to keep things from rolling around and protect the bed. I never haul anything tall in the truck, so cutting off the height is not an issue. I would definitely recommend the cover.

Pete, they didn't start showing up at dealers until later I seem to remember. I could not see paying the extra cash money!

You are one lucky dog! The dealers out here were selling for stick er price and would not honor the GM Sup. and woul only use reabates and GM card points.

At the time I bought the SUT with the bed cover, I wasn't convinced the cover was a good idea. One road trip is all it took to prove it's a terrific thing to have. Like others said, it keeps contents dry, it's sturdy and it has a reasonably secure locking system on it.
After reading your question about removing and re-installing, I had a closer look at the mounting. IMO, you'll have to have a darned good reason to want to do that. It's not a complicated intall but then again, it's not something you'll want to do for a quick trip to the hardware store.
The good news is, the lid raises to a high enough vertical angle that you can likely put your mother-in-law back there in a rocking chair even with the lid on. (If she talks back, ditch the chair and close the lid -- she'll fit. )
The Hummer bed mat is thick, fits perfectly and has drain holes. I haven't seen an after market product that fits exactly but there's probably one out there that fits okay and will work. The Hummer brand mat isn't too costly and it definitely matches the overall theme of the truck.

I bought my bed mat on EBAY, but they're very few and far between. My cover came with the truck. I never plan on removing it, but I have heard that it can take a few hours... You'll probably end up having to buy both from the dealer.

My rig didn't come with the t-cover, but it was something really I wanted, so I dropped the K to have them install it before I picked it up. Definitely worth the money. In the short time I've had it, I've put everything from groceries to you name it in there. I've ordered the mat and will be picking it up when it gets in. I plan on using it for luggage, beach chairs, all manner of things that used to go in the interior of my Durango, but I hated putting in there. As for removing it, I've got a utility trailer that's larger than a pickup bed (and it's a hell of a lot lower and has a ramp), so I don't plan on ever needing to remove it.
