If you notice your keys banging into dash while accelerating or braking, I found an easy fix. Purchase a sticky pad by Handstands @ brookstone. Cut pad into small square an place on dash @ impact area. This material is spongy with a tacky non-adhesive backing. Check out http://www.handstands.com for pads or gadget grips(pre-cut squares).

That only works if you carry the H2 key separate from any other keys you have. While I'm not a key hound (I only have a few other keys on the ring), I like to keep all my keys together...if nothing more than to occasionally give me a sharp jab to the g'nads when I sit down, not

I also have a fix for the remote banging....I superglued the key remote to the steering column and now it doesn't bang anymore....of course I have to leave the truck running constantly, but hey it was worth it!

The noise. My keys band the dash incessantly. Being moderately OCD, it drives me nuts. My wife doesn't notice.
Volume control would be an option...when I drive by myself, but if kiddo or wife are in the truck, that's not an option.
The padding on the dash mostly cures the problem. Instead of a loud clack, clack, clack, you get a much quieter thud, thud, thud that has fewer high frequencies to it and is easier for me to tune out.
BTW, it's not just during accel/decel for me. It's any time driving on uneven road, which is pretty much anywhere.

All padding aside, I just resigned myself to live with the jingling noise.

It's been a long time since this subject has come up and the fixes are always the same.
Did I read something about a pad?

i found that Motorhead, while not being to everyone's taste, is the best at drowning out all clunks, rattles, squeaks and wind noise on a far more consistent basis. no chance of a quiet ballad coming up and allowing distracting noises to make it to your ear. and it leaves your ears ringing for a while, keeping you sane between tracks
