I always thought our change oil reminder was based on simple mileage. It isn't. It actually looks at rpm, temperatures, driving habits, etc. and calculates when to change oil based on those parameters. So it may be 5,000 miles for one person and 3,000 for someone else based on conditions. And it will always prompt to change oil at one year regardless of mileage. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Jonahs that explains alot. I have changed oil with 20 to 40 percent left with in 11,000 miles 3 times. It just felt like it was taking to long. So as little as I drive it probably is correct. Now that I have Royal Purple I'm going to watch and see if it causes change time to extend. I will not wait longer but, see out of curiousity if % is higher when I change it.
Thanks Jonahs
