Default Jeep stuck, rocks thrown, axe to the head...

What a dip****

"A Lakewood man who pelted campers with rocks for refusing to help him get his Jeep unstuck was hospitalized after the campers hit him in the face with an ax and broke a rifle over his head, officials said.
Kevin Alan Brown, 27, is in intensive care at St. Anthony Central Hospital, where he was flown by helicopter after the campfire battle about 1 a.m. Sunday.
The campers at Geneva Park on Guanella Pass said they only hit him in self-defense, according to authorities.
But Brown's parents said their son was unarmed and that the force used on him was not justified - whether or not he threw the stones.
"I am appalled to think that the persons who attempted to murder my son with an ax and a rifle are not behind bars," said Brown's father, Harold A. Brown of Atlanta.
Park County Undersheriff Monte Gore said Brown was intoxicated and repeatedly attacked several families who were camping together. Gore said Brown hit one man in the head and another in the chest with rocks.
The case remains under investigation and charges could be filed against Brown or his attackers, Gore said. He noted that while the campers had a right to defend themselves, the force must be reasonable.
He also noted that he would consider a rock a lethal weapon.
"It's amazing he wasn't shot," Gore said.
Elaine Brown, Kevin's mother, said her son is no angel but added that the campers should have called police. "When they retaliated with an ax and a rifle, that was more than what was required," said Elaine Brown, who flew from Florida to be with her son. "He's the one lying here in the hospital bed with his jaw wired shut for six weeks. He's lucky to be alive."

Unfortunately the rifle was medivacced to Peter's Ammo & Gunsmith in nearby Yawsville where it was declared unrepairable at 3:34am.

The sad thing about this is, Jeepers pelt people with rocks for not helping them get their Jeeps unstuck on a daily basis. It is a problem we need to deal with, it's not just going to go away. The brave men who sacrificed their riffle and got Jeeper head on their axe should be honored.
