Re: YaDnUs siT
I kilt something today so I'm happy. Something uninvited has been munching on my garden:
That's what's left of about 30 9" tall bush bean plants. It also ate my pepper plants and a flat of marigolds. I talked wtih some local gardening experts who insist it's deer. I'm in the middle of suburban hell with 6' high wooden fences ,neighbors on all sides and 2 dogs in the backyard. And a relatively small backyard. I have not seen any poop or footprints. It's NOT a deer.
Sooo...I was thinking bunny. But I caught a rat/mouse thing this morning. It was actually pretty cool...it had it's front paw caught in a rat trap in the garden, which is surrounded by a lattice fence to keep the dogs out. It had managed to drag itself and the trap to the garden edge and through the lattice, but it was stuck because the trap couldn't fit through the lattice holes. The dogs were going NUTS, so hubby told em "GO GIT IT!" and they did.....little rat hand came right off and they quickly put the thing out of its misery. We've had a 60 day drought and temps in the 100s for about a month, so I'm thinking the lack of water may have driven this thing to eat plants that it normally wouldn't touch. Regardless, it's in a baggie in my trash now. Yay! I can replant!
Other than my exciting morning....going to finish up laundry and put a final coat of paint on the bathroom mirror frame...which we put up a month ago. Yeah, I've been slacking in the home improvement arena, majorly.
Oooh, and I am luvin my new computer addition - wireless keyboard and mouse. Anyone with a toddler who can reach desk height will understand.
Next Sunday - pre-season - Bruins and Devils...whoo hoooo!!!!

Aah, the unrestrained optimism of the clueless... I felt the same way when I caught the first possum INSIDE my house... till I caught the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and got too skaeered to catch the big-ass mommy possum..
Rest assured, the rat-thingy litter, extended family, and prob whole village will be visiting your delicious garden soon...

Re: YaDnUs siT
Done with two weeks of work in ten days. Sitting around the hotel room watching the early games (start here at 8 pm) on FoxSports. Hoping to stay awake for the Cowboys game (starts after 11 pm). Patiently awaiting my Luftwaffe flight to Frankfurt at 1:45 am on Tues morn. Too fcucking hot here to go outside (even at night). No booze. Nothing left to do inside the hotel. Probably work out and go to the pool tomorrow. Make some $3/min calls back home. No booze.

I'm dog-sitting for my ex. Also just installed a new power supply on her computer. Running some diagnostics to see if it's more stable now (seems to be).
