Bypassing the P-Brake...
I am sure there is a thread somewhere on this and I just can't find it. Can anyone tell me the easy way to bypass my P-Brake in order to be able to play in-dash DVD player while in drive. I have been told several diff ways, but this forum has yet to let me down.
Thanks

Applying the Park Brake puts a ground to most systems. Isolate the lead and ground it. That will do it on most aplications. Be aware in most states it is unlawful to watch dvd while not parked.

So its just that easy, I don't need a switch.. I know which wire it is, but wanted to have another opinion on this before I did it. Thanks.

Re: Bypassing the P-Brake...
Mines hooked up to the parking brake and also to a switch .Then if pulled over or you crash you could hit the switch and shut it off ,it will also work with the parking brake if checked.
I use the front DVD/GPS functions when the wifes driving or im driving with her.
She sometimes uses it on the way home and its distracting so she hits the switch and only sound will work.
(I burn dvd's of the soaps for her to watch/listen to on lunch and the ride home)

Re: Bypassing the P-Brake...
Don't be watching DVD's when I'm on the freeway next to you.
That's all we need people watching DVDs and talking on their cell phone at 80MPH
LA fwys are bad enough

Re: Bypassing the P-Brake...
Yeah, I know what you are saying. I normally have the laptop going while talking on the phone and watching the DVD...
But for real, I also hate seeing all that. I am one of the guys who normally just pulls off the road if I use the cell. And as for the DVD, well thats for stoplights.
LA damn I have never been there, I have been to Costa Mesa, what a zoo. I miss San Clemente!!! Thats the place for me.
