It sounds like we got our first H1 Alpha in today at the local dealership. I plan on taking a look at it tomorrow and will try to remember to take a camera.

When your looking at the motor, see if it has external injectors like the LLY GM motor and not the old style w/ the injectors under the valve covers.
I see it has the old 6.6 specs instead of the new one.

Thanks for the pics!
Very nice improvements. I figure when the lease runs out on the H2 in 2008, I might pick one up. Hopefully they are more realistic in price at that time.

it looks like they switched positions on the tcase and tranny shifters. the tcase shifter used to be closest to the driver. I wonder why they didn't just move the rear bumper & hitch up to make a better departure angle.

Well, I finally went out to take a look. It's been a couple of weeks since I said I was going but I've had the damn flu. Anyway, they have sold it so I couldn't drive it or anything. Somebody from Houston, TX is having it trucked over to him.
I really like it. You can call it a refined H1. Standing at the rear tire it sounds like a regular V-8 at idle with no "diesel noise" noticable. They are pretty noticable at a glance even with just the 2" body lift. In the picture below you can see the plastic piece added on the back to cover the gap made by the lift. Also in the rear wheel wells there is "skirting" between the body and the frame to keep mud and gunk out. The Duramax is packed tightly in the engine bay.
I forgot to look for the injectors, sorry Tim. It does have overdrive and the tow/haul mode like on the H2 and the sound system is better than I remember on previous H1s. I also noticed that the underside of the hood, the firewall, wheel wells etc was sprayed with some kind of bed liner type of material.
Anyway the guys at the dealership said the drive and performance is night and day compared to the '04 and before. I'll post a few pics of the one they just sold. It sounds like the next one to come in won't be until the end of March or so.

Saw one at Ron Carter this evening, sorry Tim didn't look at the engine that close to notice the injectors. The $135K price was all I needed to see. Talked to service tech and he said they dump boost pressure in lower gears so as not to overload the Allison, anybody heard anything about that?

Looks pretty nice compared to what it used to be. I like it. Beggers can't be choosers. Long live the king!

I'm not very excited about that jacked up looking rear end.

WOW! Thanks for posting pics. I had not seen any inside before this. No dual climate control?? You would think with that price tag they could have upgraded the air/heat system.
