Default No more H2....what will we buy?

Personally im keeping my H2 as long as possible. But trucks are stolen, accidents happen, etc. Plus you want the new features that you just cant install. The new Automatic Throttle control thing Mercedes has is just crazy cool, and thats somthing I would LOVE to have. (Basicly you get on the highway and set the cruize. The vehicle will slow down, even stop if traffic stops...then restart, creep, and go back to highway speed. You dont have to do anything but steer. That would ROCK in stop and go traffic. Say goodbye to rear-end collisions!)

Anyways....

Ill tell you guys, i have looked at Ford, GM, Dodge, and just cant find anything i would even consider.

No one seems to make a Large SUV designed, or at least slightly designed for off-road use. This sucks.

Anyone on here have any ideas other than re-building an existing H2?

Keep your H2. Or get a used H1. In my opinion, those are one of my favorite larger vehicle that you can drive on the road. Plus when you customize it a little bit, you will appreciate it that much more.

I plan on sinking money into my H2 to keep it going for a long time. I've thought about what I would do if it was lost or stolen. I've decided I'd spend a long time searching for a pristine on road/ low mileage used H2, that would probably mean traveling across the country to get one and have a thorough PPI. I've considered the H3 since they are more plentiful and I owned one once, but I love the extra room in the H2 and highway ride of the H2.

I agree, I have already made the decision that I will be keeping this truck going for many, many, years. When it is old and tire, rather than dropping $20-30,000 on a new rig of some king I am going to put money into this one nd rebuild/replace and make it like new again. It think it is worth it. There really is just nothing else like it out there. It can not be replaced.

I personally plan on building up my 2, selling it later and progressing through more 2's till I can find/afford a 08/09, if good fortune comes around I'll pick up some sort of H1 in the process. I don't do a whole lot of high mile driving so I could easily drive a low milage 09' H2 into 2020-2022, or even a little later without any major repairs. By the time we get to 2020 I'd be more worried about higher emission standards or really high fuel prices than finding a good condition hummer to drive or keeping mine going. Who really knows what the next 10 years will hold, maybe GM comes around and starts turning out an all electric based H2/3/4/whatever number and we all start driving that.

I'll be keeping mine for many years as well. At least until gas gets so crazy its just not feasable to drive any more. I like the looks of the Ford Raptor but yet its no Hummer. My 06 is paid for now with only 33K on her. I think i can get 10 more good years out of her before any major work. Well see what the future brings, for now shes staying right here.

Good luck, since they only made 6,095 '08s and 1,513 '09s...

DITTO
Keeping both of mine. No chance to sell. The dealer is out of new ones and, I will just keep making the ones I have better. I believe they will be one of the well sought after vehicles with a chance of going thru the roof in value( Just remember the unwanted Chrysler's and the current collector values now)!

I plan on keeping mine forever, if anything happens to this one I will purchase another used H2. Frankly, I doubt I will ever buy any new car again. There are plenty of cool used cars out there, where your dollar can go along way.

I have "ALWAYS" been a person that swaps/trades vehicles in every 2 or 3 years. I have had Lincoln Navigators, Ford Expeditions, Ford Excursions, and let me tell ya...........NOTHING can come close to the Hummer. My 2007 H2 has 48,000 miles on it, and I drive it with pride. Driving it makes me HAPPY, and makes me smile. I know this sounds crazy, but there is nothing else out there like a Hummer. I cant say enough good about them. My 2008 H2 has 37,000 miles on it..........BOTH of them have been outstanding with very little trouble. ( Body Mounts replaced, and a sensor replaced ) but nothing major. I plan on keeping BOTH of mine for a long long time. Normally when I have had vehicles in the past, I ALWAYS find myself going to dealerships looking at new vehicles, checking out the new options, but now that I have the Hummers, I have lost interest in all the other vehicles. I simply dont care what options, what engine, or what models are out there now. I am 110% happy with both of my H2's. If for some reason I absolutely had to get another vehicle........it would be a Cadillac Escalade/GMC Yukon/Chevrolet Suburban/Tahoe ( one those models ) anything else..........NOT INTERESTED.

I just had my Hummers detailed last week, and they look like they just came off the show room. These are by far the best vehicles I have ever owned, and the truth is, if there had of been better advertising, and more talk about them, I think they could of sold more of them. All people know them by is they are a gas guzzler............and lets just say Dont get me started on that because I am getting more miles per gallon out of my 2008 H2 than what most people do with there trucks, cars, and minivans with V6 engines.

My feelings exactly. I've always been one to trade every two or three years, but there's nothing out there that compares to the Hummer. It became the victim of bad press and that gas guzzler BS. The styling made it the most identifiable 4 X 4 on the road, next to the Wrangler, so it was an easy target. It was also looked upon as a vehicle of the rich and famous making it even more of a target. The advertising never emphasized the offroad capabilities.
