My TomTom Go 700 nav system arrived Monday.Took about 15 minutes to install and learn the system. All US and Canada maps are preloaded onto the 4 gig hard drive. The bluetooth connected flawlessly with my razr cell phone. You can then talk hands free using the Go 700. It even tells you when you have incoming calls. Address book from your phone is displayed on the Go 700 screen. It's awesome. The navigation system is awesome as well. Also picked up floor mats, cargo mat, and mud guards today. A few pictures!

It sure does! It alerts you at 300 yards before the turn, then as you are coming up on the road. Different voiced to choose from, plus many languages. Has a quick disconnect from the windshield for easy switching of vehicles. Built in antenna and an optional external antenna can be purchased seperately. I have no trouble receiving signals with just the internal. Car power adapter and a home charger cord come with it. It will run 4 hours with it's batteries. You can go to their site to view more details. So many I haven't even used yet.
TomTom Go 700
I think a nav unit installed in the dash where the radio is would be very hard to keep your eyes on. Also, I purchased my unit from Buy.com for $705. As you can see from the web site, they have it listed at $899.

wannabe,
This is straight off their website.
Permanent Docking Kit -
Get perfect sound via your car’s speakers! Do you want to install TomTom GO using your car power and car speakers? Now you can with the permanent docking kit for TomTom GO.
Looks like it comes with a docking shoe that can be mounted just about anywhere. I like the idea of having the audio come thru the stereo speakers.

Were would you permently mount it.I noticed a small cover on dash toward middle up close to windshield if you can run the wire through there(if theres a opening)than the wire wouldnt hang in front of dash.

Hmmm, good question. It looks like they have it right in front of a vent. I have no idea about that cover on the dash. Maybe someone in the forums here knows what it's for.
