How many took their spare tire off and left in their garage for daily driving?
For those that did, how far is your daily commute?

Leave mine in the garage all the time. Been on 3 trips over 3000 miles without it. I know its stupid, but just dont have the room for it. I'll probably be walking tommorrow from a flat , now that i posted this.

I had the dealership remove mine before I took delivery in September. I think it looks a lot cleaner without it. However I have many question what year it is because it is not on the back like the 06's. Who cares, it fits a hell of a lot easier into the garage also. For long trips I can throw it up top ubtil then thats what Onstar is for I quess!!!

Went 60K miles last year with two Hummers--no spares--a waste of space inside and out.
A flat is what AAA is for.

I have the carrier from an 04 and it sucks vs the 05/ 06 setup. They rattle and still block your view somewhat. If you back into something hard enough, it's not just yout tire, because that tire than hits your rear gate too.
I just like the clean look back there. I'm going to put the fullsize GOBI rack up top and be done with it.
I really take too many trips to the mountains and down south in the state to leave a tire behind. I take equipment in and out of the back and that tire is a PIA sometimes.

Cool pic, Dan.
Old truck: only took the spare out when wheeling.
New truck: on the rear for now.

About a year w/no tire. 20K+ per year.
I haul stuff with the open tailgate too much to not do it.

If you are driving in an urban area mainly in daylight hours i wouldn't worry about it and leave it the garage. For longer trips, and obviously wheelin', bring it along. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>X2 I know the minute I leave it, I will need it. I've only had one flat with these type/size of tires, and that was after we picked up a HUGE piece of metal off the freeway in our pickup. During daylight, but on the 5 lane bridge on the side of the road. Very scarey. I leave mine on the roof rack now, cuz I have crappy Karma. Plus my roof rack won't allow me to fit in the garage, so I'm reduced to outside in the rain, or in the shop under the leaks.
