Well first off congrats on the purchase. Secondly, congrats on the year and color choice. Perhaps we can begin using an abbreviation that is used on the BMW Motorcycle groups I belong to. They use "FYK" to describe "Finest Year K-bike" (Beemers {Motorcycles}, not to be confused with Bimmers {Cars}, are named by their engine configuration. R - Opposed twin, K - in-line 3 or 4 cylinder and F - thumper). We can start using FCYH - Finest Color/Year H2.
Wow, it is like 4:45AM here and I am leaving for the gym... This sounded better in my mind before I started typing! :-)
Now, if we are talking football, I gotta jump in here. The Steelers look unbelievable this year. My wife and I now both live in Arkansas, but were both born and raised in the 'burgh and graduated from the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy.
Here we go Steelers, Here we go!!
I would love to see a Steelers / Eagles Super Bowl as a lot of the folks I work with are from Philly, but about half of them are Steeler fans. It would be most enjoyable!

You should get better if You are able to run slow like 35 to 45 MPH alot and let it get into high gear. I get better MPG alot in town than on the road or at least similar. I have seen MPG at 14 to 15 sometimes but, 12.5 to 13.5 regularly in town unless I'm feeling the need for speed and at 75 sometimes briefly 80,weeeeell 90 MPH I have still gotten 11 to 12. On freeway i get between 13 and 14 sometimes less if hilly or raining and windy. I have gotten 15 on level freeway excellent conditions. Something is goofy with 7.3 in town unless Your are having to idle alot then it would get worse. Are You resetting Your estimate MPG gage after refueling but, I forgot You do not have many miles. My guess is maybe dealer did not set estimator right if Your still burning the tank they gave You. I guess that is one benefit in living in country near a small town. When You fill up be sure to reset AVG Estimate, also amount of gallons used and let us know what it is saying. Well just clear everything except one of the two odometers if Your tracking mileage for break in. There are alot of different ideas about breakin but i always run it from day one just like I'm going to use it all the time. I have never babied an engine on any hot rods I've built until I got out of drag racing back in my 20's and definetly not every day ride. My 1999 Silverado has 135,000 miles and does not take any oil between oil change intervals. I drove it from the beginning like I would every day. I have never had an engine go bad or smoke. They have always run well. Sorry to ramble I need to be sleeping but got hooked watching tractor and truck pulls on ESPN2.

RAM H2 RYDER,
I used to live on College Street in Berkeley back when I was going got school. How's driving the beast through the city?
On another note, we sold our H2 less than a month ago and regretted it ever since. So...we've been looking again. I convinced the wife to trade in her minivan. There really is nothing like the H2. Welcome!

I’m embarrassed to say this but I was actually a CalPIRG canvass manager while at Berkeley and Santa Cruz. Here’s the irony, my company is now being sued by CalPIRG. I can’t believe I was a leaf licker in my youth. Watch out for them though, even in Seattle I get the “look” or a “finger” once in a while. Bastards!

Alright I went back to the dealer today to get my roof rack and he showed me how to do it. Still a thanks goes out to RLTAZH2 for the help. Now I'm avaraging about 14 mpg on the freeway. I forgot to check to see what I'm getting on the streets. But I feel a whole lot better.

Set your reading in dash to average MPG, then go to buttons on right of steering wheel and hold bottom button down to dash MPG reads zero. This same button is used to clear all reading except of course the total miles on odometer. You need to clear gallons used every time when you fill up as well as average MPG reading. I clear everything every time i fill up except Hours on engine as my dealer said they like to keep up with hours on engne in my records and when I come in and they check something they clear it. Oh I also of course do not clear oil % until I change oil. I may be leaving something out but You get the idea.

Congrats on the new Hummer. I picked up mine on the same day. I'm curious though why they seem to be so expensive in CA as opposed to the Northeast. I got a great deal on mine $51.5K for an '05 Stealth Grey, Adventure package, Sunroof, Navigation, XM radio and rear DVD headrest entertainment package. (that did not include sales tax though)
I can get more at this kind of discount and ship to CA if needed (that adds about $1200 for shipping though); still cheaper than the West coast prices though.

7.3??? Are you gunning it everywhere? I get better MPG off-roading. Do you have it in 4Lo and the rear locker on?

I'm not gunning it because I'm still breaking it in. I just drive around town. I don't drive it in 4lo with the rear locker on. I need to see what my average MPG is again. I only have 290 miles on it.
