I'm trying to figure out the minimum height clearance I need in places like parking decks and drive-thrus. I just want to confirm this in case my math is off.
The stock height of the H2 is 79.2". I'm running 37s, which brings it to 81.2". Add a 6" lift, and we're at 87.2". So minimum clearance I would need is 7' 3.2" in order to keep my roof bars and lights intact.
Does this sound right, or have you guys come across something different when applied to the real world?

It wont fit thru the drive through at Don & Bens Liquor World...I tried. It wont fit through the drive through at The Beer Barn...I tried. Nor will it fit through the drive through at World of Wine. See a pattern?

Stacy:
The lift height of 6" will vary a little depending on torsion bar adjustment-also you are only adding one inch with 37's as said here--measure your H2 now--add 6" and you will be close.
As Phil said, you need some margin too---7-10 or 8' is good.
Maesure your garage door height before you drive it home! I have seen a few people lose some stuff on the top of their Hummer--like crossbars.

For James,
I don't have a drinking problem. I drink, I get drunk, I fall down. No problem!!

I test drove a hummer a couple weeks ago (don't have one yet). It would not fit into my underground parking without taking off the cross bars on the roof rack I had the salesman on the running board guiding me into my garage until I heard a frantic STOP!!! LOL
No hummer for me, at least until I move to my new place. The garage there is 7"9" clearance.

The angle of the road, bumps, etc, can also make a slight difference, so you should always add a couple of inches for margin.
</div></BLOCKQUOTE>
And don't forget incorrect clearance measurements, or like in my parking garage at work, failure to update the measurements after adding a new fire sprinkler system. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
And a new layer of blacktop.
