H3 OFFROADERS? Have you seen them?

Q1:
How many H3 owners bought their rigs to really take them were they belong? OFF ROAD!

Q2:
For those that have gone off road, (wet grass, mall parking lots, construction areas, and snow on the streets don't count), who felt comfortable pushing thier rig(s)?

Q3:
How many plan to do moderate to difficult trails? And what type of terrain?

Let's discuss. I'm sure there will be no trolls or an type of diagreement on how capable this truck really is.

If I wasn't going to take 'er off road, I'd have gotten another BMW.

#1 - My daily driver, go anywhere camping rig that replaced my beatup Cherokee for getting me places most other people won't go.

#2 - I've only had it offroad a few times (near Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams in Wash State). Was by myself and no winch (or wench, for that matter), so I didn't push too hard or do anything stupid. Will really get a workout this summer when the weather turns nice and I camp pretty much every weekend out in the backwoods anywhere I can find a place to drive.

#3 - Not planning any trail runs until I get it lifted and a winch. Love old logging roads and I've already been on quite a few. Have some good scratches, but won't put it in a situation to break anything (like a tie rod) for awhile.

1. I figured I'd do some light offroading, but now that I'm hooked I find myself going about once a month.

2. I'm getting more comfortable each time out. We'll see how brave I get now that I have the rails and UC protection on.

3. I've been on moderate trails and some slightly difficult ones. I'm hoping to do Moab or the Rubicon (or both ) this year, and some other 7-10 rated trails in CA.

Mine was bought more for the street . I know the H3 is capable and will see wheeling but not hardcore . I have a well modified ZJ for that and no sense in tearing up a brand new ride when i have a deadicated wheeler .

It will see the sand dunes , snow runs and a military range we wheel on . Michigan has a lot of narrow trails that would take out a paint job pretty fast . Those i will stay off for now .

1: bought mine as daily driver , we started planning our first trip to pismo while still configuring truck on hummer website . so had planned on using offroad before even purchasing .

2: have averaged a run every month since getting it end of aug . first was a hummer happening second weekend after purchase with dealer and 40 trucks . moderate trails with a couple of medium steep hill climbs and obstacles nothing too serious . pismo was second trip truck was awsome running 20 psi pushed it hard and was empressed . got bogged down in the bottom of a couple of real loose bowls but was allways able to get momentum back up . we went off the lee side of dunes 30 and 40 feet tall practically straight down very impressive . our last three trips have been to local ohv parks with all types of terrain from moderate to extreem . hillclimbs dry creek running and lots of steep down hilling . have not had any mudding yet . going to hollister on 21st so hopefully then . i have pushed the truck pretty hard but have not abused it by any means . have had some loud solid contact underneath but thats what the protections for

3: i plan on doing more difficult runs in the future with groups from here so i can learn how to get the most out of my truck . have trips planned for death valley , baja , and more pismo runs . we like desert terain , mountains , and sand dunes

Off roading should be part of the break in period.

I bought mine to use as a daily driver, but MORE importantly for off road.
I needed a truck I could trust to get me into the back woods for photography purposes.
Traded a 2004 Supercharged Xterra for it and haven't looked back. Well except when I go to pass people on the highway.

But thats what vette's are for

The only chance I have had to take her off roading is at a hummer happening. I would love to go more often but there are not a lot of places in Wisconsin to go to. This is my first off-roading vehicle so I don't have much to compare it to, but I have been extremely impressed with what it can do.

I bought mine to hunt and fish out of and that is exactly what I use it for! I have been to the Super Lift Off-Road park in AR and it did well on class three trails with no problem and seems to love the mud!

We bought ours for going off road. So far, only moderate trails. Really fun, easy stuff. I've played with it on steep stuff, just to see what it'll do. I commute 45 miles to work every day so it won't be getting jacked up. If I wanted a rock spider, I'd buy or build one. Tearing up a street machine is not gonna happen.

I have a company car so this is my weekend toy. I use it to tow my boat to the lake, and play out in the desert, maybe some snow if we ever get some in Northern Arizona. I haven't pushed it hard yet, but so far no complaints on the moderate stuff.
