Alright! 9am @ Big Bear Visitor Center, I just googled it and this is the first showing up. RonB & H2Finally, please confirm there is only one visitor center and this is the one?

630 Bartlett Road
Big Bear Lake, CA 92315

Are we using CB or FRS?

In the past we've used the Discovery Center or the Ranger station on the other side of the lake -- less crowded, lots of parking, and not in the middle of the village (which can be a nightmare on a Sat). The trail head for Gold Mtn is somewhere in the area of "A - 10" on the lower map including Baldwin Lake (select directions and maps, then select the printable version).

We could meet at the trail-head -- there's lots of room to park/air down if I remember correctly, I have a topo program so I could post the gps coordinates. It really doesn't matter to me -- just trying to stay away from crowds.

Ron, anywhere you say is fine, since you're leading the run..

Please post address (my GPS don't do topo cords).

Wil, I'm using CB.

why don't we meet at the Discovery Center -- parking, restrooms, hookers, maps if you want them. It's on 38 about 5 or 6 miles before you hit the trail-head (between Fawnskin and the Stanfield cutoff). The Ranger Station is a 1/2 mile or so farther east on 38 (I only say this because I have adresses for both, but gps coord. for the Ranger Station only).

The adresses:
Big Bear Discovery Center
41397 North Shore Dr (HWY 38) 909-382-2790

Big Bear Ranger Station
41300 North Shore Dr (HWY 38) 909-866-3437
approx gps coord. -- N 34deg 15' 48" W 116deg 54' 03" (deg, min, sec)

Gold Mnt trailhead/HWY 38 -- approx N 34deg 16' 28" W 116deg 49' 10"

The time is up to you guys. Bring your recovery gear, tie-rods, and take off the side steps or the trail will do it for you!

If I wasn't clear, bring Red Bull -- you'll be amazed how tired you'll be on the 2.5 hours drive home -- once the adrenaline wore off...

What channel on CB and FRS radios guys? Navigators gotta have this info!

Ronb, you still wanna caravan up the hill with us? Please post your cell phone number and/or radio numbers and we'll hook up with you when we get close to your exit. Will you be staged on the onramp?

hi all,
any cb channel is fine with me -- my cel is 818-427-3041 and I live about a mile south of the 101 and 134 intersection. I will be leaving my house with a couple of passengers, sandwiches, water/beer and balljoints at 6:30am.
