Man, if I can afford to buy a HUMMER h2, I will cover it with "bling" and pimpstar wheels!!!

Oh, for the record, base base price (w/out $615 destination fee, etc) is $38,645 for the Alpha.

Same as Urban Ops estimate from his sales guy at $39,260 (if that includes destination fee). Plenty of options to add to that number.

and who is bending you over with that number???? and what the hell does "same equipment" mean that you posted?
Sounds to me like this H3 alpha is going to be around 45-50k once you add a few items if the starting price is near 40k.

Pretty much...it'll be a lot harder to find a 'base' alpha than it will be to find the $29,995 MSRP base H3 (which are rare anyway)...

Man, your alls panties sure do get tight whenever a non 3 owner says anything. All I was trying to point out is that I dont see why anyone would pay 50k for an H3 alpha. Whats an additional improvement other than the engine and trans??? Is that really worth 15k more than a current H3??? Or is all the alpha badging what is raising the price.

Re: where is h3 alpha pricing?
The Alpha comes pretty darn loaded.
H3x Package - RPO HH3
All the H3x goodies with chrome, like brush guard, fuel cover, etc.
Optional paint
Body color grille
Basically, it will come in (without the H3x chrome stuff) at about 1500.00 more than posted by Urban Ops. If you go with an H3x it might be close, considering you have to drop the off-road package that is not available on the H3x.
The H2 will also be going up in price this year with the new engine, trans and interior. How much????
Would the H3 be worth 45K with the V8 and loaded with everything but the chrome bling package? It will still be around 15K less than an H2, bet a lot better fuel mileage. For towing or just to have a V8 it probably is. However, in my opinion, a H3 with the 3.7L/off-road/lux pkg/sunroof/maybe or maybe not the chrome package/trailer pkg/ is the best bet for off-roading. I cannot see a big advantage in off-roading with the V8; other than the cast-iron front diff. (Again my opinion. For GM's sake, I hope everyone purchases an Alpha. )

its too big, that makes it useless in busy cities. I would pony up the 40000-45000 for the alpha after im done with this one, probly 2010.

What does what you drive have to do with it? And who said anything about it being worth it? I simply was pointing out that the pricing is right about where several of us said it would be.
And comparing a loaded out Alpha to a base model is not an apples-to-apples comparison. You have to compare it to a Lux with Offroad package for a fair price comparison. When the H3 first came out, people were paying $40K plus for that.

I understand. Sorry for the confusion. When I bought my H3 in Oct 2005 I got the adventure pkg and auto with side steps, roof rails and the optional 20 inch rims (mistake on my part) and I paid 32500 (not counting tax, tags etc). What the price increase is just seems steep. But if one likes it that is all that matters.

agreed, its impractical in metropolitans...always liked the look of the H2 better but it wouldn't fit in ramps and my garage

Hang on a minute, let me do the math. 41K-3k = 37k? You got a deal!
