Meeting Times & Place:
City Market in the town of Buena Vista at 10 a.m. on Feb. 12th (City Market is located at 438 US Hwy 24 South Buena Vista, 81211)
For those traveling from Denver, we’ll meet at the Northwest intersection of C-470 & Morrison Road at 7:30 a.m. for 7:45 departure & meet up with everyone else in at the City Market in Buena Vista at 10 a.m.
CB Channel: TBD
Accommodations: Alpine Lodge in Buena Vista has offered us $40/night including free coffee/hot chocolate. Call Gary at (719) 395-2415 & mention Colorado Hummer Club to make your reservation for the night of Feb 12th (or the night of Feb. 11th if you want to drive down on Friday). http://www.vtinet.com/alpine/
Overnight stay is NOT required – it is close enough to Denver/CO Springs to drive down in the morning of Feb. 12th & drive back in the evening after the trail ride. (Although you will miss the Hot Springs & off-road trails the next day!)
Scheule: Everyone will run trails on Saturday, February 12th & those who are staying the night in Buena Vista will run trails on Sunday February 13th as well. Exact trails are T.B.D. because of unknown snow conditions. If there is snow, we’ll run trails north & east of Johnson’s Village at the lower elevation. If there’s no snow, we will attempt some mountain trails. Dave Chambers will be trail leader & is very familiar with all trails in the area. Please contact him if you want to request a specific trail at the phone # below:
Contact: Call Dave Chambers at (303) 288-3154 for more information. If you plan to attend, RSVP to Shane at geneseemtn@hotmail.com
Entertainment: For those staying the night, there will be a special treat: Mt. Princeton Hot Springs! There is a natural hot spring coming out of the creek bed, so you actually sit in a RIVER in the middle of the night & it’s warm because of the natural hot springs! They also have a pool, so bring swimsuits! http://www.mtprinceton.com/activities.htm
Families, Kids, Girlfriends, Friends w/ 4x4’s, Pets, etc. are all welcome & encouraged to participate!
