H2 transmission

My 2003 H2 started auto trans problems. I had to manually put shifter into 1st gear then 2nd--it would not go into higher gears. I installed a new shifter cable and the auto will still not work but I can manually get it into 3rd gear but no higher. Has anyone any suggestions as to the problem or what I can do to fix the problem?

You mean you can manually shift but when you put it in D it won't shift?
