This is Stant 11589 on my Hummer. Works perfectly for 10 months. I like the little white letters, if you don't, you can easily remove the letters with a Q-tip and lighter fluid or polish remover.

My Stant 11589 has performed perfectly. Never had a drop of gas leak out at any angle.

Couldn't find anything but the Stant recommended cap so far. Washed the rig the other day and wiped around the gas cap, it unscrewed a little and I guess I didn't get it back on tight enough because while on the way to the dealer for it's first oil change the dash light came on. The dealer said it was the gas cap. After reading everyone's comments it sounds like it is more of "operator error" than a problem with the cap. Just make sure the cap is screwed on tight. I'll keep looking around for the 11589, at least untill someone comes out with a reasonable price on a black billet style. Heck, even a nicely designed locking plastic one would be cool. There is so much plastic on the rig now, why not?

You can never have enough horsepower! Yellow LUX, Airforce intake, stainless headers and exhaust, Gobi rack and ladder, roof mounted off road lights, full wrap brush guard, rear light guards, outside tire carrier, Rancho 4" suspension lift, Ultra "EN4CER" 17x9 wheels, Goodyear 37/12.50R17 MT/R tires, removed side-step bars, 9.5ti warn multi-mount winch.

Bad Dawg

Go to www.rockauto.com to find the Stant cap - type in the brand and cap number - order it - they ship it - put it on in a few days for $17.

When you smog the H2 it should definitely show up as an issue. Gas caps can be a little picky during a smog test. In fact, if you watch them test, they have an aparatus that tests your gas as part of the cert. process.

If Stant is telling us it isn't the right cap, I think new buyers should beware.
