Has anyone ever looked at or installed a power trunk release. I was wondering 2 things: How tough is the install and if yiou wire it into your aftermarket alarm will it open automatically if you have it wire into a acc. button.
Thanks in Advance!

I have no idea how hard it would be but I would be paranoid to have really. You could get damage real quickly by accidentally hitting it at the wrong times. At least with a real trunk it pops up and rarely in danger of damage. Not true with rear door on the H3 though.

ebay link
This guy sells them on ebay cheap and it says in description
This unique controller module makesthe remote trunk release a smart feature and gives the owner 3 great advantages:
- The remote trunk release is operable only when the alarm is disarmed
- If the buttom on the remote control is inadvertently pushed while the car is driven, the trunk will not open
- The owner may control with a singl dual button remote control, each of these features; remote control arming/disarming, door locking/unlocking, as well as remote trunk release
Email him and ask about install maybee he will attach instructions for you to look over .

Unless it pops the door open far enough for the strut to engage, I don't really see a point.
And I really don't like the idea of the door swinging out on its own.

I think I am going to buy one and wire it up to the AUX button on my wireless remote.
I've about run out of other crap to install... this this is a good fix to get me by...
