One problem with the rear swing gate:

Another but since you are lucky in living where the sun actually shines, and the temps are above freezing, it won't pertain to your vehicle:

If you are sure it is the passenger door, you might want to put a small piece of foam tape where the switch hits the door. Don't use a real thick piece or it might impare the door actually closing. The switch is the black thing towards bottom of door on B-pillar that door closes against. This might help to close the switch until the time you want to take a trip to the dealer.
