I certainly wasn't wanting for much when I was growing up and my family has money but they didn't spoil me rotten. One of the cities that went to my high school was in the top five nation wide for per capita income. To put it in perspective, Beverly Hills was ranked # 24 at the time. It was amazing how spoiled some of these kids where. Parents divorced and mom is getting $4k a month in child support and doesn't need it so gives it to the kid. What the hell does a 16 year old need $4k a month for, let alone in the mid to late '80s Granted some of these kids were my good friends but where are they now that they have to work for a living. To this day, I appreciate the fact that my parents didn't spoil me. Sorry for the ranting but it drives me nuts because my kids have friends that are spoiled rotten and they think that's how it should be.
