Default Re: To Much Rust under new H3?

Is that rust normal? I think so. I've seen the drive shaft like that on new (2 months) hummers on the dealer lot, and old hummers (brand new but sitting 10 months). I bought an 06 that was sitting for 9 months. I checked out the under carriage before I bought it. Looked better than some of the ones that had only been there for a couple months.

I will do an experiment/be guinea pig. I purchased an anti rust package for the new beast. After I took delivery, I noticed they spreaded the whole undercariage with some think black crap. Hopefully it will slow down the inevitable rust you get from driving in the upstate NY snowbelt. (Boy do they love salt around this part of the US!) So, we'll see how it goes for the next for years.

There was some rust when I bought it. I am deciding not to worry about it.
