"CAUTION"! Be very careful in choosing a car warranty. Do your homework first. Some things to investigate & consider are as follows:

* Be certain to get a copy of the warranty contract and "read it" to determine specifically what is covered and what is not covered. If a company is not willing to let you see the actual policy contract - "buyer beware".

* Be certain that the warranty is backed by an insurance company that has a current A.M. Best rating of at least an "A".

* Get the details concerning the process the warranty company will use to determine whether a claim will be covered and how it will be paid (i.e. can you take your vehicle to any shop; who pays for diagnostic work; If covered by what method does the warranty company pay - do you pay the shop & warranty company "reimburses" you, or does your shop contact the warranty company for authorization and warranty company pays your shop with a credit card; How long will it take the warranty company to determine if a claim will be covered and how fast will the shop be paid or you be reimbursed).

* Talk to the service tech at your shop to find out what warranty companies they believe to be the best and why; and like you're doing get feedback from individuals who have aftermarket warranties and have used it.

* Generally speaking do not purchase an aftermarket warranty from an auto dealer because you'll also pay their commission for same.

* Shop, shop, shop and negotiate the price. You'll be amazed at the potential flexibility in price for arftermarket warranties once you start negotiating.

Good luck and I hope this helps!
