You are right. The technician will use the programmer to raise the ride height in the rear and calibrate the sensors and computer for the proper ride height. Then all four corners of the car will be calibrated correctly. I believe its called z height adjustment. You can fool it, but you risk not having the car level, unless you mess with it long enough. Messing with the height can effect the alignment in the front. Trust me, I've learned this over the past few months.
