Default Re: Has anyone...

How big's the amp..?? Physical size if you will... If you want it really hidden, find a way to mount it behind those storage compartment doors.. You may have to do some cutting and fabricating though... If it's small enough you might be able to to put them under the front seats..

I had a 87 Silverado a few years back.. I mounted the EQ and a small amp 50 watt amp for the front speakers in the glove compartment.. Had 2 - 10 inch Fosgate subs and a 100watt Orion amp in a box behind the seat.

I haven't looked at high end stereo stuff in so long I don't even know who the big names are now... Back in 87 I think I placed 2nd in the AR regional Car Wars <150watt cat.. I had a Alpine Cassette head unit, a small 45watt booster amp mounted in the dash with the radio, a 100watt MEI Amp running 2 - 10 inch Pile Drivers with passive crossovers. Sounded decent, right at 100dB, but it was one hell of a clean install. No wiring visable anywhere... The box had been build by a cabinet maker with the sub amp mounted in a cut out on the center. It was built to *fit* behind the seat of an S-10 and I still had room to scoot the seat back most of the way THEN... (A later box with an extra 12" in it had the seat scooted ALL the way forward.. I couldn't even get in the NOW) I had some old scrap red and black vinyl and covered the box with that... At the time everyone else was still covering boxes in carpet if they were covered at all.. I was just to cheap to go spend $35 more for the carpet..

Anyroads.. Be creative with it and you'll figure it out.. And make it look clean when it's done.. Don't leave wires hanging out...
