Default MAF sensor defect ?

Hi

I observed mig check engine light came on the other day (sometimes flashing), but being a long way from home, I slowed down checked engine oil and continued home.

Went to the shop the other day, the told me that i needed a new MAF sensor, but they would need to get back to me with the price. Told me to drive slowly, but no problem.

Yesterday the car almost died on me, and is very reluctant to drive past 1500 RPM.

Got the price for the MAF today 800$ ??? (In Denmark).

that?s outrageous -

If I step on the it, it will nearly stop, and it's not driving well, Do you guys think that the MAF sensor is doing all this ?

Can i disassemble the MAF and fix anything myself (What?s inside it anyway)

Do you have a good cheap place where I can order on online and have it sent to Denmark ?

Regards
Rene
