Okay, I've searched and found out there are two disctinct types of HID headlights.

Projection H.I.D. lights and replacement HID headlights. Both now come with hi/lo beam features.

My question is, which one works the best?

I've searched the internet and found that a lot of these places don't exactly give a definition of a Projection HID system.

My search on the H2Source has revealed the best description (of course) about Delta HID lights.

Delta 7" HID Hi/Lo Headlamp System
SKU: DEL-HID

Direct replacements for 2 headlamp systems, this DELTA 7" Hi/Lo H.I.D. Headlamp is the most powerful H.I.D. light available producing 7,000 Kelvin that is 27% brighter than daylight. The headlamp offers H.I.D. in both high and low beam not available on any luxury vehicle vehicle. The headlamp features lead crystal lens with "E" Mark certified precision optics, steel-stamped reflector, optional "city light" and rubber boot to protect the optic unit from dust and moisture. Each system comes complete with (1) headlamp, (1) H.I.D. Burner, (1) Ballast, (1) Control Unit, power cables and mounting hardware for easy installation.

Sold in pairs.

Here is a pic and description of the Projection Headlights from Predator Motorsports.

Detailed Description
The most inovative light ever developed for a Hummer. We are proud to introduce a true HID high and low projection driving light set for your H2 Hummer. Our True Projection HID set offers 70% more light output on the road with a crisper beam pattern then possible from any other non HID Projection system in the world. Our Projection HID Driving Lights are DOT Tested, Certified and Approved. They have also been developed under strict SAE guidelines giving you, the owner of the finest 4wd vehicles in the world, the finest HID lighting system in the world. Additionally the HID Projection lamps offer greater visibility to the sides of the Hummer. Peripheral vision is dramatically enhanced because of a wider, brighter light pattern. When you can see more, you're less likely to have a sudden surprise on the road. To suite your style and taste we are offering our Projection HID lights sets in either Chrome or Black.

Could I get some feedback on these two different systems?

I tried the new bulb in the headlight assembly trick, and it just isn't doing any better. I'm thinking new lights all together will help. It gets very dark and rainy out here, and flipping on the PIAA's isn't exactly legal but MAN do they work good.
