Default Re: SUNDAY 4-20-08

Sleep deprivation sux. At least it makes me care less about hockey.

Tried something new this morning, in leiu of a caffiene pick-me-up - rolled the french toast in crushed frosted flakes before cooking it. Mmmmm.....sugar high for at least 2 hours.

Picked up the dumber-than-dirt Dalmatian from the vet yesterday....the dog ate a kid project. Toddler made a bird feeder consisting of a pine cone in peanut butter and seeds at an arts class. Hubby hung it on a too-low branch and we see the speckled nutless wonder (the dog, that is) running off across the yard with it. Hubby got to him before he ate the metal hanger, at least. Dog hadn't eaten for a few days after that so we took him in to the vet....the core of the pine cone had lodged in his intestine and the hanging string got tangled up too. $2K in vet bills. Stupid ass dog.

Planning on spending the day doing some housecleaning...the place is a disaster since Superchunk came home. It's amazing how one small child can totally throw the schedule of 2 adults out of whack.

Also learned something very interesting this weekend...a slow propane leak smells exactly like a rotting animal carcass. We figured that the dogs had killed something under the deck, there was a nasty rotting smell for about a week. Then we noticed one of the grill burner knobs was slightly askew. Yup, that was the problem. And now the propane tank is down 20%.
