I can cruise at 75 mph with earplugs.
Usually keep it between 65 and 70 in Oregon. It goes faster if you want to pass or speed up for a while. I haven't had mine during the summer yet, so I'm not sure if it heats up or not. From what I've heard, there isn't a problem with the geared hubs heating up at hi-speeds on the Alpha.
