My DD is either an 09 gt500 or a 90 k5 GMC. We spends about 850 a month in gas. But we drive what we want. We are looking at getting a couple Honda's to keep the miles off the cars we like. I'm sure the drastic cut in fuel will be nice also

try the chevy cruze eco. my buddy has one and gets around 45mpg on the highway running premium.
