Default Re: oil pressure issues

sure it is oil and not power steering fluid?

only reason i ask is i dont see how oil would get up on the shock area..

maybe it is PS fluid??? i just had an issue where the steering shaft had frayed the return PS fluid line and was leaking fluid all over the drivers side shock area.

was your oil low at the end of the drive?
check all your fluids.
chances are whatever fluid is leaking regardless of where your driving.
now thinking about it.. some other issues that could cause oil leaking that high up would be:

oil is so hot it boils and shoots up the dip stick? you would see oil splatter everywhere though
bad gasket on valve cover? not sure it would squirt out alot, but maybe a good trickle.
bad head gasket? same as above.. might be easier to spot looking up from underneath the vehicle.

also.. maybe it is tranny fluid??? there is cooling lines from the tranny to the radiator... maybe one got pinched? maybe a fitting got loose on the rad and the oil is going to the low spot on the line?
inspect your engine compartment some more to see if there is any indication where it could be coming from. from the amount of oil it sounds like is leaking, there should be a very obivious indication where it is coming from.
is there oil splatter on the hood?
check the front of the engine where the fan is.

if you can tell, or you have alot of gunk build up.. might be a good idea to power wash the compartment to clean it up some and try loking then.
