I took my truck into dealer last week to have a few things checked out. The biggest item on the list being the rear locker disengaging while out playing in the sand dunes. Of course I then found out that it is designed to disengage over 30MPH. (Something good to be aware of when wheeling.) Anyway, here is the rest of the list and the verdicts.
They reprogrammed the onboard computer from #12576636 to 12586338.
1. Squeaky rear door. Of course I researched here and found that a couple of strips of Velcro could cure the issue and that is exactly what the dealer did. I just wanted to see what their fix was.
2. TC2 and ABS lights came on last time we were knee deep in the mud with it. They later went out, but the brakes were “mushy” from then on. They listed the cause as “C0192” and replaced the service guy said was the “momentum sensor”. It was listed as part # 15181002 and the paper work noted a bad “longitudinal accelerometer”. (I wonder if it has a lateral one?
)
3. When shifting into drive, from park or reverse it seemed to take too long and it also seemed to “clunk” a bit hard. They reprogrammed the computer and it now engages drive a bit faster and it much smoother.
4. After the heavy wheeling we have been doing it lately, I was hearing the front suspension “popping” when flexing, even when backing out of my driveway. They retorqued shock bolts, A arm bolts, and crossmember bolts and the problem is solved.
I thought I would share my experience with you guys. Sewell Hummer handled the issues, although it did take 2 days to get the sensor into stock, so they had my truck from Tuesday through Friday. Sewell has been great to deal with and I would suggest them to anyone in North Texas. This is the second time my H2 has been in the shop (6500 miles now) and the first repair was to replace the in-dash CD unit that fritzed out on me. (Still have not got my CDs returned to me either.)
