Hungry, Hungry.. CD player??
My CD player has been eating CD's lately. I'm out of warranty, and MEDVED told me it would be around $300 to fix the unit. So I ask you this:
1. How easy is it to access the CD player by removing the center trim?
2. Can I try to fix the CD player without sending it into the fetal position?
3. What are the chances that I will be able to put it all back together (a few parts leftover is ok )?
And don't give me too much credit. I mean, just look at my avatar.

Re: Hungry, Hungry.. CD player??
Removing the center stack is definitely a chore. You can do it though. Search the forum for pics. There are som that shows the locations of the screws, clamps and etc. that will need to be removed. I've removed the console and trim piece twice and don't look forward to doing it again when I sell my truck to unhook my Ipod. Good Luck!

Re: Hungry, Hungry.. CD player??
I got a CD out of my 6 CD changer with the help of a credit card. I hit the eject button and while the player was trying to eject the stuck CD, I stuck the credit card in the slot and unwedged the CD. I cant remember if the credit card went above the CD or below it... but it worked.
If all else fails you can use the credit card to pay for fixing it

...sounds like you should stick to a disc "walkman" and earphones! Hope you can figure out something useful to fix the problem...

Re: Hungry, Hungry.. CD player??
Not that hard to remove the radio, and really not hard to remove the covers from the radio and remove the CDs. I took my radio completely apart and installed LEDs for backlighting. Just have to be careful.

I'll be more than glad to PM you the instructions for getting at the radio. It's simple, but takes some time. Let me know.
The old link to Klaus's write-up doesn't work anymore.
