If it weren't for the GM discount and business deduction, I would probably have a look. It seems to have pretty good specs for the money, but we'll have to wait for some real world testing on a production model. Think about it, though. If you had the choice between an H3 and what is out there now (true off-road capable - not wannabe's), what would you choose? I think the H2 is a niche market, but has succeeded in creating strong branding which will lead to a lot of interest in the H3 over say a Jeep Cherokee - especially in the younger set. Regardless of wether we like it or don't like it, I personally think they are going to sell like hotcakes.

Maybe. But I need to see it in person first. And take it for a quick wheeling run.
It is smaller, so then maybe all the H2 haters would think I have a REALLY REALLY BIG DONG. Actually they already know that because I keep it coiled up on the roof. ... just let me dream for a while.
I'm keeping the H2 either way.

$40,000?!! that sounds like dealer price gouging to me. it will be sold starting at $30k according to GM. at $40K you might as well spend the extra and get an H2

I like the style of the outside but will have to wait to sit in one. May just add one to the family next Summer.

I think the new H3 looks nice. IM sure its a great little truck. Like Afrocreame said, it's a mini me H2. I love the bold big look of my H2. Does anyone know how much they are?

I don't like the H-3. It looks cheap and not only that it looks like a Jeep Grand Cherokee on steroids. I like the BIG bold look of my H-2. Thanks But NO thanks I'll stick to the H-2.

Sorry, don't think a McJob will cut it
Just curious, why do you dislike it so much or is it just that you like the H2 that much more and wouldn't switch to the H3? Just curious.

I've been driving an H3 for the past two days and will have it until tomorrow. I like my SUT but I gotta say, this is a cool truck. It's easy to see why H3 owners like their trucks so much.

We've just put a thousand miles on the new H3. We've also owned two H2's over the past three years. There's no doubt I like the H2 better than the H3. It's sort of the arrogant older brother that everyone gawks at. People really don't seem to notice the H3 as much as the H2. I did have buyers remorse but that fades every time I drive the H3 into town, park in tight spots and enter underground parking lots!
The H2 is great, but for every day use the H3 fits our needs better. For where we live the H2 had too many limitations on where we could take it.
If you're new to Hummers, I'd really take the effort and rent one for the day and see what life is really like with either.

So what you are saying is the H2 is a H1 wannabe chick car? Basically it is the same comparison as you made right? BTW, I think all three are incredible vehicles and each have their place in the Hummer family.

I know this thread is dead and gone, but I've been removed from the Hummer community for a while. I owned a 97.5 H1 wagon before the H2 came out, and then replaced it with one of the first H2s which I sold when I returned to school. So, I was avidly following the discussions about the H1 vs. H2. It's amazing how similar these comments are to those expressed by the H1 owners when the H2 was coming out. I find it highly amusing to see H2 owners deriding potential H3 owners. Each vehicle is different, but the H3 is important to the continuation of the H2, just as the H2 was to the H1. The arguements are eerily similar and should be embarrasing to those H2 owners with negative H3 views...

I will continue to pay an extra thousand or two for gas before buying an H3. I didn't even think about buying an H2 until I sat in one and it took me all of 15 seconds to decide. I saty in an H3 and it took me about 30 seconds to decide that the only way I would buy one is that I lost everything I owned, my job, house etc and had to start over with a McJob.

I drove both and opted for the H2 SUT. If there was an H3 SUT, I prolly still woulda got the H2.

I bought one I love it It gets around great on all the tight trails can pull a u turn in the tightest of woods and get in all those small spots where the cj5's show off the H3 shows off in the in all the spots you would not put a H1 or H2 so H3 covers all the bases so The hummers can show off on all the trails and in the wide open Spots!
HUMMER family like nothing else
(why do jeepers look at me so funny?)...lol
