Wow, I didn't mean to start a huge argument! Thanks for answering my radio question everyone
...Now for my two cents. The "H1" that I owned was actually an m998 military humvee, and was the exact opposite of "blinged" And perhaps most importantly, I got it for only 22k.
Now, the fact alone that there are people here claiming that H2s and H3s "do all the same stuff" as an H1 is enough to tell me that you guys are not serious about offroading. Don't get me wrong H2s and H3s are "nice SUVs"...but I have absolutely embarrassed H2s on the sand, mud, and rocks....and my rig was almost 20 years old and less than half the price! (so there goes your price argument) I've taken my humvee up to the windshield in water, and the diesel just shook it off.
I am an avid offroad enthusiast which is why I was so hesitant to buy an H3. The "blinged up" H1 has a Duramax diesel and an Allison tranny....that right there is worth the price of admission. Nothing else can compare...period. I'd rather have 1 Alpha than 3 H2s any day of the week.

I got back on this site to see what people were saying about it. Those who bought them seemed to like them. I test drove and then purchased one. I've had it for two months now and love it. It's a better fit for me. Any additional questions?

To my surprise I was actually quite impressed. GM really did a nice job, especially for this price range. The agility is awesome and the flexability is impressive. The ONLY thing that I don't like is that puny 3.5L.....why do it?? I have no idea! It definitely won't save much on gas. I would have much rather seen a V6 (like the ones you see in Nissan Xterras). About 40-50 more horses and 60-75 lb-ft of torque. Anyway, now to my question;
Does anyone know how to pull out the stock CD player? Also, I want to get rid of the double-DIN and run a single-DIN flip-out monitor. Anyone know of a company making these adapter plates?
Any help is appreciated.

Congrats on the the H3 purchase. You and your fiance will enjoy it.

Congrats on the H3 purchase.
I’ve been incredibly happy with my H3. Yes… I to would like to see a few more horses under the hood but it still does a nice job.
I replaced my head unit with an after market single DIN unit and used the Metra 99-3304 install kit. I have some detailed pictures/instructions of my install at http://www.rausite.com/hummerh3.htm.

Alec you are obviously a douche and Dirty is by any standards completely insane. How's that for whining? You guys are two examples of why there is an anti-hummer movement in the first place. Couple of big mouth hide in the forum punks.

It's kinda like bigger boat itis. I found myself measuring the garage to see if an H2 would fit in, but I do think it would have amuch harder time squeezing through the trails I do. When I was in the Yukon I met a doctor and his vehicle, was an H1. In his words, "I need something that will get through when 99% of the others won't." I posted his pic next to his H1 on my trip log in September.
