Hum2-
Your first pic is not the same hill as the ones shown previously. The true steepness is somewhere between those two photos with the top third being really steep. Also the rock was much larger.
That Lion's Back shot is great. I can feel that sickening feeling in my stomach just looking at it. There were two drops on Hell's that were steep like that felt like we were going over a cliff.

BKLYNH2: I hate to break it too you, but that is the same hill, just from a different perspective. It looks a lot steeper when you are at the bottom looking up.

Then...you must be Pete?

BKLYNH2: Didn't know for sure if it was the same hill...looked at it for quite a spell (background exam) and it sure looks like the same one, so I thought it was. Photos can always be tricky, especially if the pic taker is not standing on level ground, or doesn't have a level head. :-))

Where are your MOAB pics posted?

Detonate,

That is exactly what I meant. A H2 could drive all the trails we ran no doubt about it, but the question will be can the drivers run the trails?

JJ asked me what I thought a novice wheeler could do.

If it can break it can be fixed.

brianfriend,
what trails did you run and did you find them relatively easy to follow? Hell's Revenge sounds exciting, would you recommend it to novice H2 off-roaders?

I'm still trying to get the NM crowd organized and then we'll try to hook up with you Co. folks.

JJ

Hey guys,

I just got back from a 3 day trip to Moab Utah. 7 hour drive each way and it was so worth it. That place is absolutly amazing and you HAVE to go, make it a priority. A 20 hr drive would be worth it if you had just one day to wheel. We camped every night and the trails were no more than 15 to 20 min. away.

We had 2 solid days of wheeling and I think we ran a total of 7 trails. Even the wife enjoyed her self. It is absolutly beautiful and the trails have all kinds of ability levels. If you want difficult there is no shortage of that but if you want to see stunning geography regaurless of the difficulty there are so many oportunities.

The most memorable trail for me was Hell's Revenge. I was almost paralized with fear most of the trip. The trail is not hard but there are so many drop offs (like on both side of the truck)I felt like a novice, but the trail was so worth it.

There were all types of vehicle there from Jeeps to LR and of course we saw some H1. But I didn't see a singe H2. We ran into a group of Xteras during the trip and they did much better than I expected.

My digital camera is broken so I had to use the disposable type and i have no pic. to post but they wouldn't do justice anyway. You just have to organize a trip and see for yourself.

Brian

That pic made my heart flutter

Seriously though, is that a real picture or was the camera tilted to appear like such a steep incline? I gotta know.

yeah I had seen that picture before heading out there and was probably most aprehensive about getting to that climb. The original post even made some reference to it being so steep that it verged on potential tip over. In comparison to the entire trail it was not all that severe. I think the length of the climb is what's most impressive.

A H2 can do Hells Revenge. You should check the link I posted above.

BTW, this is a picure of the same hill. It is damn steep, just not quite as bad as the picture with the jeep makes it look.

Yep, this is Pete, is this Ric Maybury (sp?). I did see the pics were courtesy of GM, but didn't put the 2 together.
