Default Vibration on Hummer

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum so bear with me if this question has been asked before. I recently bought a H3 about 3-4 weeks ago. I have travelled about 2700kms thus far. Couple of days ago, after started up the car and still idling, the car started to vibrate for a second and then stop for a few seconds and then vibrate again and continue on. It has been like that for the last couple of days and I'm starting to get worried.

The last time I had a similar occurrence, I was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer and the transmission had to be replaced. But that wasn't a brand new car.

Please advise if any of you have had a similar issue or may know what could be a problem.

Thanks.

Joachim

It could be several things. Poor fuel/other if the vehicle was laying around for a while or if contaminated in some way. Sounds to early to have any valve issue...
You should call your dealer and explain the conditions relating to the problem. Whether happening at idle or at traffic lights. Cold or warm engine and other data...
Bring it in for analysis. Its under warrentee.
Good Luck!

Is the check engine light on? It could be a rough idle/ misfire of a cylinder. What year is your H3? If it is a 06 you should have the heads checked.

My truck had a check engine light when I was on a trip to Reno. I used Onstar and they said it was a rough idle/misfire. It only ran rough once when I started it. I turned it off and started again and it was fine. I took it to the dealer and at first they thought it was a bad cylinder head. Ended up being a bad pcm. They reprogrammed it and everything is fine now.

It could be Misfire as H3slate pointed out. Bad spark plug wire or coil is most common contributor to this problem. Also, custom ECM programming can place excessive tranny line pressures but this only occurs when in drive and not neutral.

Hi Guys,

was driving back yesterday when the check engine light came on. Had a mobile mechanic come over and run a quick diagnostic and it turns out one of the cylinder is misfiring.

Took it back to the dealership to have it checked out. Its an 09 model and I have only had it for 3-4 weeks. Is it worth getting it repaired or should I be asking for a brand new car?

Ask for another new one. Check the door jam for manufacture date.

I'm having the same problem with my 06 H3..I get this ''shudder'' once in a while..Almost like it wants to stall. however , I'm driving it as much as I can so I can truly find out when & where it might happen...it's still covered under warranty...so I will get the service it needs...I'm waiting to see if other problems show themselves.....BB
