Yes Sir it is. I require a 9 seater vehicle but Denali's go only up to 8. I wish I had the 6.0 though. Cruising up to the cabin with 5 kids, their friends and luggage is a bit challenging. It does okay with the 5.3 but I wish I ha a little more...

My sister's Denali has the same engine as the H2. It's TONS faster, cuz it weighs so much less than the H2, but she can't even run across a wash-out in the road without banging the fender. She's waiting for a couple of years before she buys an SUT, I hope.

Not bad. The interior is a definite upgrade.

I like it. Doesn't look as tough as the previous version but I do like. The interior is very nice too. I think the new interior will help sales a lot. I know several people who have purchased Navigators in recent years rather than slades or Tahoes because of the interior. I wish that GM could follow Ford's cue and make the third row seats fold flat into the floor though.

I see your point but the suburban is too big. I can't see why they wouldn't put a triangle window on the door like all of the other vehicles on the market. It is not like they havn't done it before. The Envoy's windows go down. The Navigator has had them since the beginning.

Is that all? Could it be tire size? I know hers are stock, whatever size that is, and mine are stock 35's. Okay, you made me look.
Curb weight on the Denali XL is 5754lbs. Vortec 6.0L V8 with 3.73 gears. 335 hp, and 375 lb-ft. of torque.
Aluminum wheels: 20 X 8.5
http://www.gmc.com/yukon/specsEngine.jsp?vehicle=denali
H2 curb weight is 6400 lbs, Vortec 6.0 L with 4.10 gears, 325hp and 465 lb-ft torque.
Cast Aluminum 17" wheels http://www.hummer.com/hummerjsp/home.jsp
Not much difference, except the torque numbers are 110 lb-ft higher. <span class="ev_code_RED">i mean 90 </span>
I only got to drive the Denali once, and it flew. My ass told me it was faster. K?
Nice car.

UGH! hate how this vehicle line gets softer and softer every year.......looks like a soft Ford Expedition at this point
I grew up with the OLD jimmy and blazer styles (my first was a 1973 jimmy that I lifted). I still own a 1999 tahoe (lifted as well) that I picked up as soon as I saw how the 2000 redesign sucked.
Sorry for the rant but crap like this is why I made the jump to the H2.

Hey, they made the Denali lighter. Mine is a 2001 and it says a curb weight of something like 5900lbs.
Theoretically the gearing would make up some of the difference in the tire size but, I am like you, it's more seat of your pants.
BTW, I might have been confusing, I was agreeing with you on the difference, I just didn't think the weight difference was the answer.
And the numbers you show says the H2 has 90 lb-ft of torque more?????? Actually the H2 has 365 lb-ft but it feels like it has 50 lb-ft less or more.
The Denali is much more sportier.

Salivating! Hope they don't screw up the reliability of this line. GM did it right with the basic Tahoe and all its cousins.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> GM furious over Escalade/Tahoe spy shots

Remember those spy photos of the next generation Cadillac Escalade and Chevy Tahoe? Turns out that GM is pretty ticked off they were taken and published on the Internet. The photos could potentially weaken interest in GM’s current crop of large SUVs and offer its competitor’s insight into the company’s plans for its highly profitable replacements. The photographer apparently called Brenda Priddy, a well-known spy photographer in the industry, and wanted to make a deal. The veteran spy shooter refused to handle the photos and warned the man not post them citing GM’s wrath for reason. The General has no tolerance for spy photographers or journalists who disregard embargoes after pics of the C6 Corvette raced around the Internet before its debut at the Detroit Auto Show this year.

The first of the sport-utes off the block is the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe shown here. It features a powertrain that, with a cylinder-deactivation system, posts an average fuel economy of 20.5 mpg ( with four-wheel drive, 20.1 mpg ). The Tahoe will be the first of 12 distinct models to share similar running gear, including a new Suburban, Cadillac Escalade, GM Yukon and Hummer H2. All I can say is we have people who are scooping up the '06 Tahoes and Burbs right now. many who have seenthese photos aren't impressed. I do find the new rigs to be very Fordish....My owner told me the same thing happened when the current Burbs and Tahoes came out. People flocked to buy the 99's. I guess to each his own, but I must say I don't think GM scored any brownie points with these new designs
