There is a chance that there may be a solution. Check out this post:

Using this adapter, along with a Pioneer XM module and a Pioneer CD changer unit, you could possibly have it all!
CD only owners could have XM and an RCA input for whatever they wanted.
Something to check out!

Is there a Pioneer XM radio I can hook up to the GM head unit with this adapter that I can hide and control with the GM head unit?

Just so you know, I called Delphi about this. They are not interested in helping in any way.
The Hummer Area Rep was at my dealer recently, and he said that the wiring was different on the '04s, and that GM had no plans to work on a retrofit.
I'm sure GM *could* do this if they wanted, but it would require some custom programming.
IMO, the only thing that *might* work would be to add a 6 disc changer to an '04.

Hey guys, you might try emailing Jason or his guys over at JP Customs. When I had my Tahoe he emailed me some pin-outs for some mods and I bet they've already tried to install the NAV unit. They may be able to help. He's a good guy and always tries to help on mods.

CMB,
Let's keep the momentum up on this subject.
I'll ask my local dealer as well.
(Centerfire was taking this, as well as other posts off topic - typical newbie...)

LAPD,
Did you get a chance to test over the holiday?
Still two nagging questions:
1) Can you use the Nav while listening to the CD-changer
2) Can you get the Nav to accept commands at over 8MPH
Many thanks in advance,

Dedo-man,
That's what we are being told. I have a '03, so I have the 6 CD unit, no NAV.
As soon as the UPS guy pays me a few visits this week, I should be able to give you more answers.

Try Helm Publications They have wireing and service manuals, even DVD and CD Roms for some vehicles. Click on the aftermarket link and hit hummer. They may have some info that is helpful.

I spoke with my local dealer and they said there is a dealership working on adding the XM option and they will let me know how it turns out. However they did not seem too helpful. I did however contact the dealership where I bought my 04 and they are looking into this more because they liked the idea. I will let you know as soon as I find out something. Anyone else out there know any more?

Just might be.. But they can't find me.. Because I wear a Black hat with ALum. Foil that has been crumbled up and then straighten out. of course the shiney side is placed towards my head.
Besides.. It's really hard to be stealth like in an H2, or Lifted Sub or Bright Yellow S2000 or Crown Vic with lights.. Someone always knows where to find me..
Just can be a bit bothersome to know that Helga and Gretchen and listen on a private conversation if they get bored at work.

I called Soundgate this past Thursday to order the converter. The guy on the phone told me it will be avaliable in about a week. They had a shipment of all the last ones to the west coast. So if you live out there you might have a better chance than the east coast people.
Little note to people interested. If you order one post when you ordered it so everyone will know when they are available again.

Dedo--
I have the 04 with the nav and I should have mine within the next two days and I will let you know if it for sure works in the 04 nav units.

Helm does not have anything out on the 2004 H2 yet. That is why I was trying to find a tech or someone on here that knew a tech that might be able to help. Thanks to anyone that can help in advance.

hummer17,
I guess we will have to install the adapter, CD changer with XM and then see if we can listen to a CD or XM while the nav system is operating. I don't know why you can't as the Escalades are able to do it.
Also, I will see if we can enable the nav system to operate while going over 8 MPH with our Tech II and let you know.

Now it's time for off topic. this whole forum is about going off topic, that's the way it has always been here. that's why it is so much fun. So what did everybody have for dinner tonight? I had pork chops with baked apples, some oven fries, and a nice pinot noir. Then some apple pie and baked pumpkin seeds. yum yum.
