New truck same options hopefully better color to hide imperfections and swirls from buffing...also the wheels are the same just chrome, and from seeing the guys/gals who were wheeling with me that had chrome with no scratches i had to go that route too.....

You mean "great lack of color choice".

Damn if I didn't have an '86 too! White. They sure were easy to slide around. You should have seen the looks I got when I climbed my ass out of that little thing.

Dennis,
My sister had the exact same car. Those Fieros were way ahead of there time, pretty cool mid engine car actually. Hers got stolen and ended up at the impound lot.

I had an '86 Fiero SE 2M6 -- same engine as the GT but a little more chopped in the rear. That was a fun car in its day. It was faster than my mother's '84 Trans Am. Don't laugh, they were both fire engine red...

Be sure and post the results. I have one that needs serious cleaning and have been hesitant to put it through the wash.
Thanx!

Black buffs best by hand. You can use an orbital (carefully) if you finish with really fine compound and a good coat of wax.
Nothing looks better. But timgco's Desert Sand with black SUT may look as good.

It went fine, it is hanging to dry on the deck railing. I used Tide with a touch of April Fresh Downy. I will let you know the final results tomorrow.

Hand wash in woolite and air dry, like all your delicates! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Please, I was not about to ruin my manicure for a truck accessory.
