dude it freakin rocks! It goes inline with your existing bose system. It does not hinder your stock system at all, but what it does give you is: the ability to hook up an aftermarket amplifier. The big difference between it and other "converters" is that it does it before the bose amplifier! That way you get a clean, unprocessed signal. I hooked it up to my Kenwood 500Watt amp and 2 JL 12" subs. It is perfect for adding deep bass to the stock system.

One more question I thought of. Does the interface have a line level to RCA output converter or will I need to buy one so I can run my inputs to the aftermarket amp. Ditto on the pics!!! That would be really great! Thanks

NSXer: Would one of these interfaces give my aftermarket amp/system the ability to continue playing after the ignition key was removed ? My stereo installer does not know how to maintain this ability after installing the aftermarket amp behind the factory amp ....any help you can provide would be great.

As of now, the only speakers that remain playing are the two in the rear of the vehicle...used primarily for Onstar. They are the only ones still powered purely from the factory amp.

I just got off the phone with Karl at PAC and he explained to me that I can not read!

The instructions say to plug the PAC interface into the factory head unit. I plugged it into the bose amplifier (the plug is the same on both ends) and it does not work there. That is really too bad because it would be so much easier to plug it into the amp. Oh well!

Alls well that ends well.

I hope you did not take it the wrong way HappyJack when i said you did not read the instructions correctly. I'm just glad we figured it out before everybody here orders one and tries to hooks it up at the factory amp.

As for auxiliary input, we handed full control of that project to another company. So as of now, we don't know when the product will be available, but should be in a couple of months. We will update our website when it is available.

Also note for 2004 H2 Hummers, there is word that the audio system is going to change but has not been 100% confirmed. The H2 should be using a standard Bose amplifier that is not going to be on the Class 2 bus. The headunit will be a 4 channel variable output. If the pinouts is the same as a Tahoe , Sierra, or Surburban, you can use our AOEM-GM24. This will allow you to add a 4 channel amplifier instead of 2 channels.

Looking forward to hearing how the interface is. Ease of installation, quality, etc. I have 2 10" Polk Subs in bandpass box just itching to get into my H2. Keep us posted!

NSXer

I just talked to PAC on the phone today. They had a minor delay. She said she would not give another estimate because they missed there previous estimate. However she said it will be ready soon. She is going to call me when it is ready. I will let you all know when she calls.

Cheers

Does the PAC unit require us to run a 12V and ground or is one provided off the PAc unit from the factory wiring? Thanks,

TN--> the interface has RCA outputs only. there is no "speaker level" outs. I'll get some pics for you guys this afternoon, but I only be able to show my amp and subs because the interface is behind the dash. you still want pix?

You must run the ground. The 12V amp control comes from the PAC unit.

no. i did it myself.... and I would use myself again! ha!

TN--> the install was not bad, just time consuming. It took about three hours to run all the cables for the amps, install the PAC, etc. but, it was well worth it. awesome results with the complete stock look! and I'm not sure about the aux input box. I hope it does, becuase I have XM and DVD that right now are RF modulated. I can't wait to have a clean input. we'll see.

just under $90.00! If it works like it is supposed to, then it'll be well worth it!! I'll let you guys know! I'm set up as a "dealer" so if you guys want I'll order a bunch, them ship them to you guy, but I'd rather wait until after I test it out so I don't have to worry about returns and the like!
