This is an VW 181 build in Germany in the end of
the 60's. It was also called as Kuebelwagen.
It was a very cheap version vor the Military.

Huh? I thought the P.O.S. was attached to the toilet in fever's photo on page 1 of this thread. I know 'cause I once owned one.

What about one of these? The Polaris, not the H1!

Take the Ford EX frame and stick on the body of the Ford Bronco SUV Concept, give it the Hummer H1 body lines, grill and bumpers and you are golden... Make sure the back cap and roof is removable so you can go open or have a soft top and bikini top that you can put on. Make the doors interchangeable with a set of half doors that come with it. Make the interior washable with a hose. Front and rear steering. Winch on the front. Windshield removable. Plenty of storage in the rear with tiedowns, nets, etc... Rear mounted spare tire carrier. Brushguard up front with rock rails and underbody protection...

If Hummer were to come out w/ an ATV, i'd buy it...being most of the H2 people seem to be offroad types, would make sense to have a matching 'mini-rig'
