Was looking at some of the pics, trying to determine what happens to the spare when the tailgate is down.
Looks like the tire and carrier are removable. The mount/hinge can be seen left behind in this pic. The carrier probably has a pin that slides into that mount.
Not something I'd want to be hoisting on & off. I plan to take the thing off and leave it in the garage anyway.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Although on the GM Media site, they mention being able to carry 4x8 sheets of plywood. Probably have to tilt them or some other half-ass setup. That's why I'm keeping my utility trailer.

quote:
Thanks Dan your awesome. It looks better everytime I see a new picture.
I guess I didn't really need to save up for a house.

Dan, make it dittos from me! I was saving up for a nice duplex, but I may have to put it off and go with the SUT.........Arghhhh! Love the SUT pics, though. It just makes the wait so hard. What can you do, though?
As far as the tire carier goes, I wonder if it is a removable carrier that you can take off when the tailgate is down? Hmmmm. Anyone heard anything about set ups like this? Is it like the spare tire setup on Wrangler? I'm not sure how theirs work, either. Any Jeepers around have the answer to this one?

Gotta admit, that SUT looks good! GM is really finding their way with Hummer. That cement color is very cool. I was just at Sherman Oaks and some basketball player came in with his new H2. He had an aftermarket paint job done that identical color. It looked really good. It's a little deceiving. Sometimes it looks white and sometimes it looks pewter but it does look good in person.
Go get dem SUT's!

I like the tonneau cover in pic 7. Do you think that'll be an option or an accessory?

17,
No, I didn't see that TechTV episode. I'll have to start watching for it! Sounds like they portrayed it nicely.
I like it with or without the spare. The only thing I noticed is the gap between the spare and the tailgate is kind of big. I'd like it in closer. But I'm nitpicking
No other news on pricing or anything. Supposed to be out next month sometime. Can't wait to see the pricing & options lists. After seeing more pics of the Stealth Grey I think I'm going with Pewter. The grey has too much blue tint in the sunlight for me. Pewter is always nice.
The wait will be worth it I'm sure!

Dan,
Here are a few more pictures that I don't think you have in your collection...enjoy.
Add me to the list of those waiting for the H2 SUT. After seeing the real thing (and not the concept) I am sold. Hope I can get my hands on a 2005 and like you I hope the price isn't over the top.
I'll post anything else I find on the SUT for you...
