I wonder if they'd fit (a 37'' that is) without a lift. I guess we'll see. Looks awesome. I'm happy to see some new pics boys!!! Not much action on this site after the sale of Hummer. Nice to see some of you are still as interested in the brand as I still am.

Happy New Year to all!

37" Kuhmos shoud fit no problem w/out a lift, they are slightly undersized compared to to other brands.

Bob Moore Hummer is still here...they just didn't have much on the lot, Sewell has a much better line of used Hummers so it was worth the short drive down.

BB, where did you get the lights, and what brand did you use? I've been kicking around a similair project, but the lights/mounts I'm looking at don't suit me.

Please get us some more pics! I love that thing. I think I'd like to do mine very similar to it with 37" tires. If I can fit into my garage I'll be thrilled.
Are those tires really 15.5 inches wide? I was looking on the Kuhmo site and the 38inch tires only come in 15 inches wide. How far do they stick out? Do they make the truck handle a lot different? A lot of owners say that they tend to suck you off of the road.. Is that true? I'd hate to ruin the ride.. I think mine handles well for such a large vehicle.

Also, What kind of lift did you use?

I have air ride so I'm not sure how I can lift mine or if I even can..

ehaser,,
It ain't fittin in a standard size garage. The tire size is correct. Tire manners are not bad at all, pretty decent on the highway, road noise isn't bad, overall I am impressed with the tires. Although they are heavy (125lbs rim&tire), I lost about 2mpg. I used green keys up front and alluminum spring spacers outback. Air suspension can be lifted, do a search on 2" lifts you'll find a usefull thread on the subject.

The lights are PepBoy specials believe it or not, $25 a pair. So I spent about $100 bucks on them.LOL!

Looks great man. I'm loving it. I'm probably going to hold off on the lift. I honestly dont feel like getting into getting shocks, tie rods, stabilizer, etc... Too much work. I'll probably be upgrading to an 09 sooner than later so it's probably not worth messing with a good thing. I don't really off road other than going to job sites or heading to the mountain for a weekend ski trip. Even then I'm just going from point A to B. Nothing major. If I could find a nice set up where I could fit 37's on the stock truck I'd do it. Otherwise, I'm probably going with 35's. Sucks that there isn't an easy solution. The truth is, I'm quite happy with almost every aspect of the stock truck. I'd just like to add some wheels/tires that look good without ruining what I already have and like.

I used nut-serts they are like a rivet but has threads. You drill the hole put in the nut-sert then bolt on the lamp. Bulbs are 55 watt halogen on light bar. HID's on head lamps, I have no idea on the specs.

Black Bullet... thanks for that info.. where did you get the lamps? I'm still trying to decide on a super low profile roof rack or a setup like yours... It'd be nice to throw a bunch of gear on top and net it up.... but I like the bars too.

Anyways... got all my stuff back from the powder coater. Here it is...

What do you all think looks better.. side marker light covers or just the side marker surrounds?

Thanks! I had seen this color on C.L. with the same color scheme and I thought the same thing, that's what led to me doing it.

I still need to figure out the roof rack or just powder coat the cross bars and do a 3rd bar with lights...

The snow... I didn't get that into it, but here's what I did... sorry for the ramble but I gotta do it.

I grew up in Cedar Hills. My mom's house where I grew up is on a very very steep hill, ROXBURY AVE. ( if you know it ), and when it snowed we used to get up and just laugh laugh laugh at the people trying to attempt going up or down... --down was always much more entertaining but could get ugly.

I myself have had my moments on that damn hill.

SO....since I live just one street over, and just because I knew I could-- I took the Hummer out, and went up and down the hill several times while grinning at all the stuck cars parked half way up or down.

Doesn't sound exciting to most, but I've been watching people being F'd and being F'd myself by that hill for years and years.... so it was exciting for me.

On a side note.. I realized that when it snows you are all of a sudden very popular when you own a HUMMER..

Back to the scheduled program....

LOL!! That's the first thing I do when it snows - conquer the big hills.
I actually got bored this time.

I missed the pep boys part.... one last questions for ya..

Is that a center type pivot mount or a bracket type mount? It's very hard to tell from the pics.

Do you have a close up of the light mounted on the bar?

I just think that looks really good, so that is the route I am going....
