How do I obtain a GMID? Is anyone here willing to give me one?

I have contacted the Burlingame dealer, I think they over quoted for an H3 LUX2007, w/ moon roof and off-road suspension package, which was $38k plus Tax & Licensing.

I am still shopping around and trying to decide between the 2006 and 2007. I am not in a hurry so I can wait.

I really appreciate everyones help in this forum.

The 06 H3 has a few recalls, so whever you buy have them fix them first and there is a problem they know about but havn't recalled it.
The recalls are not major. A tire jack and a rear wiper motor. And there seems to be a problem with a relay switch with in the AC unit that only gives you very cold air or very hot air.
Also, like another person ahd said do not settle for just one dealer, go to them all. I live in FL and the dealer ship in Orlando is close, but the dealer in West Palm (much further) was a better dealer and made the sell. So be sure to go to them all!
The 2007 has a much better warranty if you plan on keeping it.

Take thr MSRP of the prospective vehicle, and multiply that number by 8.35%, and this will give you the discount with a GMID (Approx. within 99%), then subtract that number along with any rebates etc. if they apply for your final cost.

Hope this isn't against the rules (if it is, I'm sorry mods - please feel free to delete), but if nobody here is willing or able to give you a GMID, go to the forums at www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com (specifically the Buyers Questions and Answers area) - there are a bunch of GM employees over there who are extremely generous in giving them out. I know there are GM employees on here too and I'm sure they'll help you out if they can but I've gotten about half a dozen GMID certs. at the site I mentioned so that should be a good source for you.

I've been hearing so many good things about Sac Hummer over the past several months! Too bad I don't live up that way. Though .... it's definitely worth making the drive for a great deal. Thank you for this info. I will email them right away to obtain a certificate for a GMID.


And HummBebe - I will definitely contact the reference you've provided from the Sacramento Dealership. I don't mind the 2.5 hours drive
