Re: Ultimate iPod adaptor and 10Min install
My Axxess unit recently broke, so I replaced it with the Neucleus unit.
I got a unit last week from Logjam, it had terrible engine noise. I was referred to tech support a Neucleus. I was told they were aware of the problem with recent batch of units, and that I could get a new unit, with a fix, by the end of the week from Logjam. I got the new unit and installed it yesterday, no engine noise, so I thought that life was good. The interface and installation are far superior than my former Axxess unit, plus the benefit of having an aux input to share between a Sat Tv, DVD, and game console.
Unfortunately, during about 2.5 hours of driving, I had the brake warning come on and a random chiming incident.
I had not seen this thread before my purchase. It is a shame that such a great product is plagued with this problem. Hopefully there will be a fix. I will call Neucleus today to add my name to those of you who also have this problem.
Is there anyone who is using this unit and does not have this problem?

Re: Ultimate iPod adaptor and 10Min install
AI has been lying to consumers for months about a fix while they get rich selling units that are defective.
We should start a class action suit. Anyone out there interested?

Re: Ultimate iPod adaptor and 10Min install
Hey guys....new to the forum...and soon to be owner of an 08 H2.
I picked up a used Neucleus NC-X2i - for pretty cheap...the back sticker says rev.5v03
Do you think it will cause dash lights to flash, etc?
I'm debating if its worth using or not.
I also wonder if anyone is using it with NO PROBLEMS.?
Thanks
Don

Re: Ultimate iPod adaptor and 10Min install
Yes... your dash will blink every once in a while. It works fine other then that annoying "bonus"
Its hard to say when the flash happens as its so utterly random. I drove from Seattle, WA to Kimberley BC with not one occurrence and another time i drove 4 miles to the store and it did it 2 times. The dash light thing is like a brief reset and corrects itself in like 5 seconds.. its just weird when you are driving to see.
Dont expect any support from Nucleus... I have given up hope that they will fix the problem. Just read the thread.
The product works, but personally i would never buy their product again based on the customer service / BS they sling specifically about this item.

Please read the thread, over and over again if you need to.
Do not put that thing in your H2.

I have it on my 06 with navi (identical to the 2007). Overall the fuctionality of the unit is great, install is a breeze and it does display the name/artist info on the navi screen. As others here have stated it does occasionally deliver a quick flash of some dash dummy lights along with a ding chime/tone. I have had this in my H2 for the better part of 2 years and the dinging/light issue is so intermitant that its not even a bother. I admit the company should do something to resolve it but for the ability to directly interface your ipod I would buy it again.

Re: Ultimate iPod adaptor and 10Min install
I have an 08 - I bought the Isimple ipod kit from ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/2004-2005-2006-2...item518e345b78
works great w/no issues whatsoever.
Only down side is that you have to remove your unit to plug the wire in the back of the stereo unit.
I didn't know how to do that so I paid an installer to do that for me.
However, there's been several posts since that shows how to remove the stereo.
If you don't want to go that route, another member posted his install.
http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=38602
he went thru the XM module..real easy install.
Ipod adaptor is a MUST.
Good luck.
