Ok, I read through those.

I am betting you have ONE issue. I am not a big believer in coincidence and these two issues are too closely related not to be caused by the same thing.

What bothers me about the description is that you haven't noticed the vibration in the steering wheel.

So, my deduction would be that there is something obviously loose. It clunks forward when apply the brake and impacts something in the steering giving you the bump in the steering.

The feel in the pedal might be with the same loose item being in it's "back" or aft position and vibrating against the firewall. Feeling it in the brake pedal also lends more to it being something on the firewall.

With all that being said, I have no idea what could cause that in the normal layout of an engine bay but I haven't paid any attention to what it looks like under the hood of the H3.

You really notice it if you sit in the passenger seat. You can feel the vibrations through the floor big time.

Personally, I don't believe this can be fixed.
The engine is a vibing POS and that's the end of it.

Mine can vibrate the whole dash at times between 1500 and 200 rpm.

It's shocking that GM allowed this to happen, but I guess that's the way it is?
This is my only complaint with the H3 so far, but it doesn't bug me enough to the point I want to get another truck.

I am tempted to bring it in to the dealer and offer the tech a $100 bill (on the side) to spend extra time with my H3. Maybe even drive it around for up to a week. I know that the repair would be covered under warranty, but the money would be well spent to get rid of this dam issue.

Well my dealer may have finally found the source of my vibration and knocking problems:

My H3 was making the knocking noise real bad yesterday so I stopped by the dealer and was able to get it knocking by moving forward only about 1 foot and hitting the brake. The service tech and I drove around to the service bay and I had 4 mechanics around the H3 all listening at the same time. They could actually hear the noise by having me put it in park and pushing front to back. They could actually "feel" the knocking in the rear tires. They immediately said it was a bad differential.

They showed me a bulletin dated yesterday from Hummer that says rear-end replacements are now on hold until they can figure out why so many are failing. They are telling me I will have to wait until GM figures out a solution.

In case any of you read my others threads regarding a knocking noise that is only heard when the truck warms up. Or you may have read my complaints about excessive vibrations coming thru the gas pedal. The dealer has diagnosed both of these issues as the rear-end differential. Now I am just playing the waiting game until Hummer comes out with a solution. I plan on bugging them about every 2 weeks until its repaired. In the meantime I am driving around with a bad rear diff.

I feel like a weight has been lifted because at least now the dealer acknowledges my problems. And even if their diagnosis is wrong, they all have heard the knocking noise very clearly.

Good information. Mine was making the noises/vibrations pretty badly on Saturday and I almost made the trek to the dealer to see what they said. I guess now I will wait for the fix to be released and then take it in.

Thanks.

i cant bieleve i just saw this post now!!! i had this vibration like a month and half ago, and it was really bad for a little and then would stop and would come and go, and when we took it to the dealer they had no clue what it was and it didnt happen. So i just left it it hasnt done it since (knock on some wood) but if it does again my oil change is in roughly 300miles so ill have em check it out then.
