a friend of mine has been useing Transynd in his transfer case on an 04 H2 and has had no problem in 3 years and 55000 miles . I know for sure it was Transynd ,because I sold it to him ($31.00 for 1 gallon )and I put it in for him while telling him that I thought it was a bad idea. as it turns out, it works so far and there are no leaks or problems . I a'm not recomending it ,but it has worked for him .

Hi Everyone. Great article about the fluids!!

I have a question I hope someone can answer. I have a 2005 Nissan titan, 60K miles. I changed the transfer case fluid with DEXRON VI (Nissan calls for D Matic ATF or Dexron III). When I got the DEXRON VI, I read it was replacing DEXRON III.

I drove the truck for 67 miles with DEXRON VI in my transfer case. Then I found out that DEXRON VI is NOT to be used in manual transmissions or transfer cases. GM actually has warnings and bulletins posted saying that a failure will happen.

My question is, why would Dexron VI cause your transfer case to fail, when it is suppose to be better?

I drove with it for 67 miles, and then drained my transfer case and installed MOBIL 1 Synthetic ATF.

Do you think I did any damage to my transfer case?

What damage would the Dexron VI cause?

D6 is thinner lower weight ATF made for colder climates and to allow for optimum automatic tranny efficiency. It can cause havov on manuals due to the fluid being too thin

Bump on this.
How important is it to have the correct fluid?
Does it really make a big difference?
