Envious perhaps?
just to take a potentially objective view point, A friend of mine has a security company and always drives a 8 yo Crown Vic to see customers because he says its easier to negociate contracts when teh customers don't see him running around in his new ML500. He believes that if his customers believe he is just scraping by then they fell that he is giving them a good deal.
not sure if this is relevant, but something to think about.
on the other hand its your money and who the f@#* care how you spend it. None of their Fn business

Take another big sniff, and hike your pants up Mr. Fife. Just keep on typing.

WTF! Now your giving job advice to Hummer owners? Whom are most likely valued at their jobs or are the boss, not dispensable fry techs. So it's not what you're used to.

I do not agree with your friend at all. DRTY has mentioned this too. If I pull up in my HUMMER to a potential client, and they make a statement(ex. well, I already know where your prices are) I just insure them that I can own a vehicle like this from providing years of dependalbe and exceptional service.

There are so many different ways to look at this, but I do have to agree with Ken, that HD does buy gay porn.

I have a friend of mine that tells his customers that he "won" his Corvette at a golf outing.

Timgco, that's the way I look at it also... I've had a lot of positive comments from people about the H2...essentially, "glad to see you're doing well." Most people I speak with want to see me succeed... Of course, I let them know that I can only succeed because of clients like them that value the service I provide and trust me...

Timco
I do agree with you and have had debates with my friend over beers, but the bottom line: it his business and he has to accept the risks as he see them (weather ot not they are real risks but mearly percieved risks).

I have a buddy with a white H2. He drives it to all his client meetings. He told me he's never had a negative comment.

BWAHAHAHAHAHHAAH OTN perhaps? and just WHO am I over there? Or, should I say, Which one of US is living Rent free in an ENTIRE Forum's head?

Again, Boss's company..Bosses' rules. Do not like it? There's the door.

If you do not work in a RIGHT TO WORK state, you do not have a case, or a leg to stand on. Businesses already have PROVEN that they can dictate employee's lives OUT of work, how well do you think your argument will stand when AT work?

Now, when you can formulate a competent debate, come back and talk to me. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Wrong, I was just showing some guys how easy it is to get you upset.

As for the rules, I agree.

It's my world, you're just playing in it.

If what you say is true...there would never be a plaintiff winning a harassment case, or winning discrimination case.

Ok, Yes on private land here, but how can someone tell an H2&H3 owner to park out back and not a suburban owner? Could it be branded parking? It is just weird.

I don't necessarily agree that the reason was because the "vehicle promotes an image that the company is not willing to deal with."

VT said that it was drawing attention from the customers coming in to fork over cash. If he had a ferrari, or any other type of vehicle that is either uncommon on the road or brand-spankin' new, it would most probably draw the same amount of attention.

Hmm....actually...naw, nothing beats a HUMMER!!!! Why don't you just park on the street accross from work...then you're not on private property, and the vehicle can be admired still..

I don't have a job.

I always had employees park in designated spaces behind the building. But I'm not sure if I could have legally required only one person to park in a different locale. Yes, I could've gotten away with it, but they weren't the brightest bulbs.
